Wow did Lily LOVE her photo shoot! She’s putting her best foot forward in the hopes to finding her forever home with these adorable pictures.

Meet Lily!

Lily is a 5-year-old poodle who weighs just 6 lbs, but her heart is as big as her adorable personality! This sweet girl is a cuddle champion, and her favorite place to be is right in your lap, soaking up all the love and attention you can give.

Lily gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playtime with her toys. She’s working on housebreaking and is doing great—she uses wee-wee pads and is learning to go outside as well. Leash walking is a new skill for Lilly, and she’s making good progress with patience and practice.

Meet Gigi

Gigi is a sweet 5-year-old Bichon Frise weighing just 8 lbs, and she’s ready to find her perfect forever home. This delicate little lady is pad-trained and sleeps comfortably in bed with her current foster, showing her love for warmth and companionship.

Gigi needs a very quiet and patient home where she can feel safe and build trust at her own pace. She’s a bit shy at first, but with time, her loving and affectionate personality shines through. While she adores gentle brushing sessions and will happily sit with you, she prefers a home without small children or loud energy, as they can make her feel nervous.

She is still unsure of the leash and the outdoors, so she will need someone willing to patiently help her learn at her own pace. For now, she’s content to stay indoors and use her wee-wee pad, she’s working on perfecting her aim.

Her unique, soft “bark” is a result of being debarked by her previous owner—a sad start, but it doesn’t bother her one bit and only adds to her charm!

Meet Pippa!

Pippa is a sweet and spunky 4/5 year-old, 10 lb Bichon-Poodle mix (our best guess) looking for her forever family. She’s the perfect mix of cuddly and playful, having recently discovered her love for balls and toys—playtime is now her favorite!

Pippa is a quick learner and has settled beautifully into her foster home. She’s doing her business outside like a champ when kept on a schedule, and she sleeps quietly through the night, happily curled up near her foster mom.

She gets along well with other dogs, as long as they don’t mind her being the boss—this little lady likes to lead the pack! Pippa is great with people of all ages and will make a loving and loyal companion to the lucky family that welcomes her home.

Meet Jazzy!

Jazzy is a stunning 1-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a heart full of love and energy to match! This playful, velcro pup adores being by your side and will happily spend hours playing fetch or soaking up your attention. Keeping her active is important, as she could stand to shed a few pounds. Jazzy sleeps soundly in her crate, is mostly potty trained, and is making great strides with her leash skills.

She’s full of youthful enthusiasm and would thrive with a firm, experienced owner who can provide guidance and training to help her build confidence and develop good manners. With a little structure and consistency, she’ll shine as the loving and playful companion she’s meant to be!

Today is the Day!

Mia‘s life look very different just a few days ago. Locked in a scary shelter cage. She now is in a warm home thanks to her foster parents.

🐾 Lucas, a sweet dog who we discovered has a heart murmur, needs to see a cardiologist before we can proceed with his neuter.

🐾 Hickory, an 8-month-old cat, was brought to the shelter with a possibly injured leg and requires immediate care.
🐾 let’s not forget the several other dogs who are waiting their chance at freedom ticket and a better life.

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here !

Today, we are filled with gratitude for so many things—but most of all, for the amazing people who say “YES” to fostering.

This week, two incredible individuals stepped up and changed the lives of two deserving pups named Mia and Lucas, simply by opening their hearts and homes. Mia, freshly spayed and still waiting for her first grooming, and Lucas, both now have a safe place to rest and recover—all because someone said, “YES.”

Foster homes are the lifeline of rescue. They provide love, safety, and a place to heal while we find these dogs their forever families. The reward? Watching a scared, uncertain dog transform into a happy, confident companion—it’s a feeling like no other. ❤️

Meet Popcorn ….. Popcorn 🍿 had his photo shoot and so excited with the prospect of his adoption day

At just 3-4 pounds and 5-6 years young, Popcorn is the definition of adorable. This sweet, happy-go-lucky guy gets along beautifully with other dogs and loves being part of the pack. He’s a quick learner, making great progress with potty training, and he’s already mastered the art of bedtime cuddles—he sleeps soundly next to his foster mom every night.

Popcorn has the cutest quirks, including a side tongue hang that’ll melt your heart and a unique little wiggle when he walks, due to some arthritis and a common knee condition called luxating patella. Don’t worry—it’s pain-free and just adds to his charm!

Let’s give a warm welcome to Bear. ❤️

If you’re looking for a sweet, handsome, and irresistibly cuddly companion, Bear is the perfect match! This five-year-old, 8-pound fluffball is a Pomeranian with a heart as big as his personality. Bear is a total mush who thrives on giving hugs, receiving pets, and gazing lovingly into your eyes. His adorable little tongue often hangs out, adding to his undeniable charm.

Bear is confident, friendly, and incredibly affectionate. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and is completely unfazed by cats. At home, he’s quiet, enjoys his meals, and sleeps soundly through the night. He’s making excellent progress with potty training and walks well on a leash. Bear is as delightful to watch as he is to cuddle, with his bouncy bunny hops, puffy tail, and soft, thick fur.

While Bear does sometimes hold up his back leg due to a common small-dog condition called luxating patella, this is not painful, and our vet has not recommended surgery. It’s just one of the quirks that makes Bear even more unique.

🌈 In Loving Memory of Amelia

Amelia’s journey with us began in February 2022. Abandoned by her owners in Texas and left outside to survive on her own, she found her way to Wagging Tails and, as fate would have it, quickly won over the heart of a volunteer who offered her a foster home. Not long after, Amelia was diagnosed with cancer. Her foster family, refusing to let her leave this world without having a last name and knowing the love and warmth of a family, Ameila was officially adopted.

From that moment on, Amelia lived a life that every dog deserves. Surpassing her life expectancy, she was showered with endless love, care, and joy by her devoted family. She went from being the worst-behaved dog on her leash walks to an all-star, trotting proudly around her block off-leash and making friends with her dog neighbors. Her favorite pastime was chewing on her beloved balls, which brought her endless joy.

Her dad recently shared these touching words with us:

“Amelia’s last photo…
I’m in Maryland for my son’s baseball. She was fine all morning and then her health quickly declined. Brought her to the animal hospital, and they told me she had fluid building up around her organs with nothing good to come after… I’m sitting next to her now; she is in Heaven for sure! Can’t thank you enough for finding my K9 soulmate. Love this dog so much, best dog I’ve ever had! Thank you so much.”

We are so grateful to her family for giving Amelia the gift of a loving home and for making her last years truly beautiful. Fly high, sweet Amelia. 🌈💔🐾

Who remembers Dino? He was originally posted on October 6 after being pulled from a local shelter with a severe skin condition. Thanks to the loving care of his foster family, Dino has come a long way and was even able to undergo his neuter surgery. While his skin has improved significantly, he still experiences occasional flare-ups (see the last pic for reference).

Tomorrow, Dino will undergo extensive bloodwork for allergy testing as we work to pinpoint the root cause of his skin issues. Our goal is to get Dino completely healthy and ready for adoption. His foster mom says he’s the happiest boy, getting along with everyone and bringing so much love to those around him.

Meet Abby, an adorable eight-year-old, 14-pound Shih Tzu who has captured our hearts since we rescued her from a local shelter. Abby’s foster mom describes her as the “perfect pooch,” and it’s easy to see why! She’s wonderfully housebroken and loves everyone she meets. Abby gets along well with other dogs and fits seamlessly into any environment. She has everything she needs to thrive and brings joy to everyone around her. At night, Abby is a dream – she sleeps peacefully, making her the perfect low-maintenance companion.
