Tyla our senior little adorable Yorkie girl, who story was previously posted is finally ready to find her home!!!

She was found wandering in South Salem and has since undergone surgeries to get her back to her best self. Now, she’s ready to find a loving, patient home where she can enjoy her golden years.

Tyla is a low-key lady who enjoys her quiet time, so if you’re looking for a furry companion who doesn’t demand constant attention, Tyla could be the perfect fit. She walks well on a leash, making her a lovely partner for leisurely strolls. At home, she’s content to sleep in her bed in the kitchen, and while she’s not a barker during the day, she might let you know when she’s ready to start her morning.

Housebreaking is still a work in progress for Tyla, so she needs someone understanding and willing to work with her as she adjusts to a new routine. She is comfortable around other dogs, making her a good candidate for a multi-pet household. Tyla would do best in an adult-only home with someone who’s around often to keep her company but doesn’t expect her to be a constant lap dog.

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news about little Tyra, the brave Yorkie found in South Salem. Tyra has just left the vet, and she’s feeling much better after her grooming session. Her blood work came back normal, and her rotten teeth have been cleaned up—she only has 2 left, but that doesn’t bother her one bit! She’s now pain-free and much more comfortable.

Tyra was also spayed and had multiple mammary masses removed. A few had to be left behind because there wasn’t enough skin to take them all off safely. However, we are relieved to report that the test results came back benign. Now that she’s spayed, the remaining masses should either stay the same or even shrink over time. These masses are caused by her being left unaltered.

We are so excited for this little girl’s bright future and hopeful that she will find her forever home very soon. Please keep an eye on our website—Tyra will be made available for adoption after she completes her healing process.

Meet Teeny Tiny Tony, a lot of love in a small package! We’re not entirely sure what Tony’s breed mix is—possibly a Yorkie-Maltese blend—but whatever it is, it’s absolutely adorable. At just 2.5 years old and weighing in at only 5 lbs, Tony is a bundle of joy.

He’s a people-loving pup who thrives on companionship, and his favorite place is right by your side or snuggled up in your lap. Despite his size, Tony has a playful, puppy-like energy and loves to romp around with his toys or other dogs. But when playtime is over, he’s happiest cuddling up close with his humans.

Tony is looking for a forever home where he can be the adored, spoiled lap dog he was born to be. He’s comfortable in his crate, making good progress with house training, and sleeps soundly through the night. Tony would also love a home with another fur companion for a playmate.

🚨 **Urgent Help Needed for Senior Yorkie Rescue** 🚨

Meet **Tyra**, a tiny Yorkie girl who was found wandering alone in South Salem by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. After spending 10 days at a local vet’s office without being claimed, we took her into our Rescue to give her the TLC she desperately needs.

Tyra is estimated to be around 8 years old and weighs just 4-5 pounds. This sweet girl has multiple mammary masses, including one that is extremely large, due to her not being spayed. It must have been terrifying for her to be out on her own.

Tyra is about to receive the care she’s been needing for so long, including a full clean-up, vaccines, microchip, dental work, mass removal, and spay surgery. Her masses will be sent out for biopsy to determine if they are benign or malignant, and we’ve already conducted a chest x-ray to check for any signs of spread—these have been sent to a specialist for review.

We urgently need your help to cover Tyra’s medical expenses. Please donate whatever you can to help this little lady get the care she needs to live the rest of her life comfortably and loved. 💔

PUPDATE! We did a fundraiser for Celia Mae’s eye removal in June and THANK YOU ALL so much for coming through. Celia Mae, the beautiful chihuahua, was rescued with a badly injured eye. She had her surgery and is taking her freedom flight to us from South Korea August 10! Named after the gorgeous one-eyed Monsters Inc. character, Celia Mae is the opposite of a monster and will have you swooning. This little nugget weighs just 3.5 pounds and is as sweet as can be.

Carlito is still in need of his forever Summer House! This Loverboy is an adorable, friendly, and outgoing poodle mix who is about three years old. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys making new friends, both human and canine. Carlito loves to be around his people and thrives on companionship (his bff Cookie was already adopted). Because of this, Carlito can get a bit vocal when left alone, so he’d do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, unless you want to hear him barking “More Life!” When it comes to mealtime, Carlito likes his food a bit *too* much, so he should eat separately from other pets to ensure everyone gets their fair share. Carlito is full of energy and would be a fantastic match for an active person (Barry’s Bootcamp anyone?) or family who loves to stay busy and engage in outdoor activities. He’s also working on his housebreaking skills, so he’ll need a patient and understanding family to help him master this. 🎉🎉 Celebrating Mimi’s 1-Year Gotcha Day! 🎉🎉

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since Mimi found her furever home! After spending 7 months in foster care with us, our shy girl finally came out of her shell and found the perfect family. Her adopters have done an amazing job helping her thrive, and Mimi is now living her best life full of love, cuddles, and endless adventures. 🐾❤️

We couldn’t be happier for Mimi and her new family. Here’s to many more years of happiness together!

Rescued from a New York City shelter alongside his housemate, Margot (who has since been adopted) in April, Murray has been with us since May 9th—imagine not having a forever home for that long! Murray’s favorite place is snuggled up on the couch next to his foster mom. He has mastered housebreaking and, while he enjoys the company of other dogs, he can be protective of his spot on the couch. However, with patience and understanding, this is easily managed.

She’s Foxxy Cleopatra and she’s back! Foxxy was previously adopted, but seemed unhappy and came back to us—sometimes they tell us when it’s not the right fit. Foxxy is looking for a new home with children over five that have small dog experience.

Foxxy Cleopatra is an adorable, petite 5lb long-haired girlie with a personality as big as her name. Foxxy is guessed to be about 3 years young, but you shouldn’t ask a lady her age. With such a large personality and confidence for days, she has no idea of her size and believes she’s a big girl. Foxxy is a bossy dog who would likely thrive as an only pet or with another female dog to hang with (girl power!)—no boy dogs, please!

Foxxy Cleopatra is great with people and is charming as heck. She is p*e pad trained, but also walks well on a leash. She’s a big snuggler and always eager for affection. While she hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, she makes up for it with her talkative nature and hearty appetite. Polly Pocket is here for her 2nd time being featured. Polly recently had her glamour photo shoot, and let us tell you, she looks absolutely adorable! Polly is a picture-perfect pup.

Meet Nigel, the adorable 1.5 year old Pomeranian who weighs a tiny 4.5lbs! This little ball of fluff is not only incredibly cute, but he’s also full of personality and charm. Nigel walks easy peasy, lemon-squeasy on a leash and is a perfect sleeper, whether he’s cuddling with his foster mom or in his doggy bed. His absolute favorite thing in the world is belly rubs, but he also is quite the collector of soft toys, gathering them on his bed along with his foster mom’s slippers 🤣.

He’s currently working on his house training and making good progress. Nigel is great with kids and even better—he enjoys the company of other dogs.

Meet Marvelous Milo!

Milo is a 10-month-old Golden Retriever. He was initially placed in a foster-to-adopt home, but due to his mouthy puppy habits and the presence of a young child, we all agreed it wasn’t the best placement for him. Now, this sweet, smart, and affectionate boy is ready to find his forever family.

Milo is a toy enthusiast, and you’ll often find him joyfully playing with his favorite squeaky toys. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and an all-around good boy. Milo’s ideal forever home includes another active dog to play with and a securely fenced yard where he can run and explore.

Because of his playful nature and ongoing training for mouthy puppy habits, Milo is best suited for a home with children over the age of 10.

Lorax has been in rescue since November 2023 with NO adoption interest. When a foster-based organization has a dog in rescue long-term several things happen ….

we lose a foster home
we can’t help another dog
our funding gets depleted

After months in foster care with little behavior improvement, we had no choice but to scrape funds together to send Lorax to a board and train program.

Wagging Tails is now in a desperate situation for funding. Our adoptions are down, and with no adoption fees coming in, survival without outside support is impossible.

Lorax’s board and train will cost $3,600. We are committed to helping her become the best girl she can be and have the best chances of finding a forever home.

Without your support, we may eventually have no choice but to close our doors. Please help us help Lorax while continuing our mission to rescue and rehabilitate other dogs in need.

‼️HELP ‼️us help spot. Spot needs to break out of boarding jail.

Poor spot has been repeatedly posted with no foster offers. Boarding is a safe alternative when we are trying to help a dog, and do not have foster placement. However, it’s not an ideal environment for them. Spot spends his days waiting for someone to open his cage door.

Adoptions are extremely slow, and we need someone to help open their home to this sweet boy. Foster homes are lifesavers for pets like Spot, providing them with the care and attention they need while they await their forever home.

Fostering Spot would give him the chance to experience love and comfort outside the confines of boarding. It’s a temporary commitment that yields lifelong rewards—not only for Spot but for you as well. By opening your home to this sweet pup, you’ll help reduce the overcrowding at the vet and free up resources for other animals in need.

New photoshoot alert 💁‍♀️📸! Remember this beary handsome Teddy? The adorable 7-10 year old Maltipoo (our best guess!) is a true sweetheart who adores his humans and thrives on companionship. Teddy walks perfectly on a leash, making walks with him the best part of your day. He is mostly housebroken, but may need a little refresher in his new home to help him adjust. Teddy is not suited for apartment living as he tends to bark when left alone (same) so a home where someone is around would be ideal. This snuggly guy lives in harmony with the resident cat in his foster and would absolutely do well with other cats, although his dream home would include another doggy sibling to play and cuddle with. Teddy enjoys sleeping in his dog bed next to his foster mom and he occasionally may jump up to cuddle on her bed during the night.

Introducing Sir Winston, the dapper 10-12 year old, 8lb Yorkie who proves age is but a number! Despite his senior status, Winston is full of life and still has plenty of pep in his step. This sweet boy is the epitome of happiness, with a great appetite and a heart full of love for his people. Winston is a social butterfly and gets along famously with other dogs and people (we suspect he would’ve been great friends with the Queen, too 😉). Winston is learning his leash manners and is mastering the art of navigating stairs. In addition to making great strides in his housebreaking, he’s currently rocking a belly band like a champ (we reassured him that others his age also wear diapers sometimes!), showing that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks. Winston is the perfect companion for someone looking for a faithful friend to share life’s adventures or just lounge around with.
