After 493 days in rescue, countless hours of love, patience, and dedication from her incredible foster mom, and a transformative experience at a Board and Train program, we have the most exciting news to share—Eleanor has been adopted!

Her journey was not always easy, but it’s proof that with time, training, and the right people in their corner, there truly is a home for every dog. Eleanor’s happily-ever-after has finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more overjoyed.

A huge thank you to her foster family, who never gave up on her, and to everyone who played a part in her story. Because of you, Eleanor gets to live the life she always deserved.

Meet Suki!

Suki is an adorable 2-year-old, 8-pound Yorkie with the softest coat you’ll ever feel! She may be a little reserved at first, but once she’s comfortable, her fun and playful personality shines through. She’s gentle when taking treats, enjoys being close to her people on the couch, and is starting to show interest in toys.

Suki is great with other dogs and kids, and unlike many small dogs, she’s not a big barker. She’s still working on her pad training and isn’t very experienced on a leash, so she’ll need a patient family to help her build confidence.

Meet Minnie!

Minnie is a tiny 3-year-old Toy Poodle, weighing just 3.6 pounds—but don’t let her size fool you, she has a heart full of love just waiting to blossom! This delicate little girl is quiet and gentle, though she will bark at sudden movements. She’s still adjusting to the world around her and can be a bit skittish, but with time and patience, she’s sure to come out of her shell.

Minnie is fine around other dogs but doesn’t seem particularly interested in them—she’s much more focused on feeling safe and secure in her environment. She uses a wee-wee pad like a pro and has a good appetite, showing that she’s ready to settle into a loving home.

Welcome Halee a 7-year-old, 15 lb Yorkie mix is as sweet as they come! Halee adores people, gets along with dogs of all sizes (or would be happy as your one and only!), and loves being right by your side—or better yet, in your lap! 🥰

She’s a pro at using wee-wee pads, sleeps soundly in her dog bed, and has the best manners. Halee does have a very mild grade 1 heart murmur, but she’s fully cleared for her dental and ready for her forever home!

Charlee is a 1 year old purebred Welsh Corgi who came to us as a local owner surrender. This handsome pup is full of energy and personality, and he needs a confident, experienced owner who can provide structure, leadership, and consistent training.

Charlee is a smart, enthusiastic, and playful dog who thrives when given direction. He loves to stay busy and enjoys engaging with his people, but he needs a strong leader to help him channel his energy in a positive way. He is puppy mouthy and can get too rough during play, so he benefits from reminders and firm redirection to learn appropriate boundaries.

With patience, consistency, and the right training, Charlee has the potential to be an amazing companion. Because of his strong personality and training needs, he is not suited for first-time dog owners or homes with children under 10 years of age. Remembering Laurie ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Laurie, a beloved member of our Wagging Tails community. Laurie’s family has been long-time volunteers, adopters, and supporters of our mission, and Laurie herself was a devoted animal lover.

Before COVID, Laurie made her love for animals her life’s work, running her own dog-walking business and caring for pets with the same kindness and compassion she extended to everyone she met. Her love for all creatures, great and small, was truly inspiring.

In her memory, Laurie’s family has kindly requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wagging Tails. This generous gesture is a beautiful reflection of Laurie’s lifelong passion for helping animals.

We are deeply saddened by Laurie’s passing and join her family in honoring her legacy of love and compassion. Rest in peace, Laurie—you will forever be in our hearts.

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has donated in Laurie’s honor. Your kindness and generosity mean so much and help continue the work she cared about so deeply.

Stella is a gorgeous 3-year-old Labradoodle with a heart full of love and energy to match! This smart girl is housebroken, knows basic commands, and is eager to learn more. She’s looking for an active, adult-only home or one with children 13+ who can match her enthusiasm for playtime.

Stella is strong and doesn’t quite realize her own power, so she’ll need an owner committed to helping her with basic manners training. She’s still got some puppy-like tendencies, including being a bit mouthy when excited. She also has food aggression and will need to be fed separately while working on training to manage this behavior.

Because of her energy level, apartment living isn’t the right fit—she needs space to run! A fenced yard is great, but it won’t be enough on its own—this girl craves interactive play, and her dream home includes someone who will throw the ball for her all day long. No first-time dog owners—Stella needs an experienced owner who can provide the structure and training she requires.

Welcome COPPER!!

Copper was found running the streets of the Bronx with another dog we previously posted, Slate, who has since been adopted. Now, it’s Copper’s turn to find his forever home!

Cooper is a delightful Shih Tzu-Poodle mix (our best guess!) who’s estimated to be around 5 years old, but his foster mom swears he acts more like a fun-loving 2- or 3-year-old. Full of puppy-like energy, Cooper is a ball of joy who’s ready to bring excitement and companionship to his forever home.

This smart little guy is eager to learn and picks things up quickly, making him a great candidate for continued training. He’s already housebroken when kept on a schedule and does wonderfully in his crate. Cooper’s foster mom describes him as “full of life,” always ready for the next adventure.

Cooper would thrive in an active home where he can be a part of daily outings and have plenty of opportunities to learn and explore. Because he’s still puppy-like and can be a bit mouthy when he’s excited, he’d do best in a home with children over 10 years of age who can handle his playful energy.

Gentle, little Celia Mae is here and doing better than ever! Celia Mae, the beautiful chihuahua, was rescued with a badly injured eye. She had her surgery and took her freedom flight to us from South Korea August 10.
