Ooooh how exciting!!!!! We plan to compete in at least 7 of the Wessex GER this year!

Its been a long road to recovery for Milly Moon, an experienced farrier is essential with thoroughbred feet….Milly ended up with corns in 3 feet in June, she was in so much pain she then colicked early july and i really didn’t know if she was going to pull through. Thankfully, she is now sound and full of beans again and the fitness work has begun!!!!

We are excited to share with you the 2024 Wessex Endurance GB ride dates! Please note, they are subject to change.

Moon was absolutely on 🔥this morning! Like riding a very fresh dragon…..she spooked at absolutely everything possible 🤣 this is what you get when you give her 4 days off snd she’s endurance fit 🤣 cant wait for our next competition, we are doing the 28km novice GER at Piddle 🙂 🤞

Nice little jolly with Gemma Brixey on the Oldbury Park fun ride! Did a few jumps, but Moon seemed a tad confused that we weren’t doing endurance, almost blew her brains a few times lol 😂 it felt incredibly short in comparison to endurance, but id been a bit concerned at how flat she’s been since cerne so it was a good distance to test her on …..i think she just needed a change if scene from our usual hacks and that the Oestress was dulling her sass more than Id like. we just made the most of the canter opportunities today and enjoyed watching Gem jump instead - I’ve really found my thing in endurance, nothing makes me smile so much 🤪 so think we will stick to where our hearts are and mix it up with the odd bit of show jumping 👌

I thought id start a little page for all that would like to follow mine and Milly’s endurance journey - its fair to say that we seriously have the endurance bug after our phenomenal competitive debut at Cerne Giant where we managed to bag an impressive grade 1 AND gained 2nd place in our category!

For those that dont know - Milly is a 6yo ex racehorse, she only raced once and was so slow that they decided not to continue training her. Milly is the only protégé out of a grade 1 winning mare called Mischievous Milly, and sired by Geordieland, known for breeding late developers, but excelling stayers!

Milly is the kindest mare I have ever known and a total mummy’s girl - our bond is incredible, like no other I have ever experienced, I have searched for this horse for many years and our future together is very exciting!
