Some great advice on how to care for your furry family members during these spring storms!

We’ve had a rough stretch of storms lately and more are expected this season. Thunderstorms and tornado threats can be terrifying for our furry family members, so now’s the time to make sure your pets are protected and prepared. 🐾💨

Here are 5 quick tips to keep your pets safe during stormy weather:

🔹 Keep Them Indoors – Even if they’re used to being outside, pets should stay inside during severe weather. Flying debris, flooding, and loud noises can be life-threatening.
🔹 Secure a Safe Spot – Create a cozy, quiet area in your home where your pet can hide and feel safe. A crate with blankets or a small room with familiar items can help reduce anxiety.
🔹 Check ID Tags & Microchips – Storms can cause pets to bolt in fear. Make sure their collar tags are current, and if they’re microchipped, ensure your contact info is up to date.
🔹 Calming Tools Help – Thundershirts, calming treats, white noise machines, or vet-approved medications can make a big difference for anxious pets. Give us a call if you need recommendations!
🔹 Have a Pet Emergency Kit Ready – Include food, water, medications, leashes, and comfort items in case of evacuation.

Ending assistant week celebrating one of the happiest assistants we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with!

Jon started as a CSR with Arch in 2022. While he loved working with our clients, he soon realized he had a passion for being with the patients as well.
He completed the Penn Foster program gaining his certified veterinary assistant degree while working full time.

Jon is an avid St Louis Blues fan 💙
On his days off you can find him cuddling up with one of his 𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗘 cats, or browsing a good vinyl store.

Rachel started at Arch in 2022. She graduated from Hickey College in 2018 and started her veterinary career.

She brings a great deal of knowledge to the team! She’s worked not only in general practice, but is also experienced in emergency medicine and mixed animal practice as well.

When she’s not at work she loves art 🎨 or cuddling up with her Golden Retriever and reading a good book 📖
