BitterDog Walkers
William is a West Village native that grew up in West Beth, went through the NYC foster care system, and ended up with a stable family in Minnesota. At 18 he used his situation to his advantage to obtain a full scholarship at Hunter College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics.
William has been a dog lover since he was a toddler, when he first saw a chocolate lab puppy, got on his knees, and fell in love. He begged his mom for years until she finally caved and one day brought home a Chocolate lab puppy who he immediately named Lucky. He got his first job when he was eight years old walking dogs. And 10 years later when he moved back to New York City to begin his studies he met an amazing dog walker Tina who took him under her wing. He walked dogs for Tina on and off throughout his studies between other internships and jobs and Tina became a mentor and close friend.
Immediately after graduation William focused on his other passions of traveling, rock climbing, mountaineering, cave spelunking, scuba diving, surfing, and just enjoying life to the fullest. He traveled for nearly two years before he came back to NYC to begin a career in finance, which seemed to be the logical next step in life.
After networking and dipping his toes in investment banking he decided this was not the path he was destined for. He made the best decision he has ever made and started a business doing something he loved and had a lot of experience with. Walking dogs! And at last BitterDog Walkers was born.
