We are on the road again. This time we are going to Indy for a month to hang out with my Sis.Yesterday, we drove halfway and stopped in Effingham, Ill. We took our Red Toyota Highlander with us this time because our usual tow vehicle is in the shop. “Red” cannot be flat towed, so I drove. The drive was nice, as breaking up the 500-mile trip into two days makes for more leisurely travel....

Lucy Dog has been very good in the Badlands today, except for when....

We were driving down the road, I had my window open, and I was taking pictures outside the window. Suddenly I looked up and I saw him, Mr. Big B. Lucy Dog saw him about the same time. Suddenly, the dog started to bark frantically saying, “Come on dude, wanna piece of me?!?!” All three people in the car started to shout, “LUCY NOOOOOOOO!!!!!”
Thankfully, Mr. Big B was not in the mood for a fight! Silly dog does not know- Buffalo wins!!

Lucy loves to run and explore off leash. She has very good recall, and we watch her very carefully so that she doesn’t stray too far. The owners of the small RV park, we stayed at in Nebraska last night, gave us permission to let her off leash because there were no other dogs in the park, and because she was exceptionally well behaved. (I was proud of her good behavior)

Being a mom, I tell her all the time, “Good girls get special privileges, and bad girls stay in the camper.” I am sure she understand every word I say. Lol

Whenever Lucy has a lot of pent-up energy and needs some exercise, we take her into the back yard and hollar, “GO!”

Last night we were sitting on the sofa, and Lucy was sleeping by our feet. Finally the Chiefs are able to run the ball down the field for the first time during the game! So naturally, my hubby, who was sitting beside me, shouted out, “Go, go, GO!” The poor dog, who had been slumbering peacefully, staggered to her feet, and in a mad rush bolted to the door!

I started to giggle and the dog turned and looked at us with a confused stare as if to say, “Hey, Why did you say Go? People are so weird!”

Please keep Lucy in your thoughts and prayers. We took her to the vet this morning because she wasn’t feeling well. They admitted her and are keeping her overnight. Hopefully she will be able to come home tomorrow. Thanks, Laurie
