I am a seasoned, Licensed, Veterinary Technician with 15 years of experience in the field, devoted to providing simple, essential, healthcare needs in the comfort of home. By providing at home services, we are able to keep most pet anxieties low to non-existent. The ability to take away that stress from a pet gives them a better quality of life and more trusting relationship with their owner and p

rovider. We are also available to work with your current veterinarian team to provide multiple other services at home that are not listed above. We are here for you, your pet, and to be a part of your extended medical team.

"A**l glands", also called a**l sacs, are small glands located on either side of a cat or dog's a**s. These glands produce a smelly liquid used for marking territory or identifying other animals. In the wild, animals use these scents to communicate with each other, but domesticated pets may not need this function as much, though the glands still produce the fluid.

Usually, these glands empty naturally when the pet poops, as the pressure of the stool helps squeeze out the fluid. However, sometimes they don't empty fully or get blocked, which can cause discomfort or problems.

Signs the glands need emptying:

Scooting:
Dragging their bottom along the ground to try to relieve discomfort.

Licking or biting at their rear end:
They might focus on that area more than usual.

Odour:
A strong, unpleasant smell, especially around their bottom.

Excessive tail chasing:
Sometimes this indicates irritation in the area.

Discomfort:
If your pet seems more fidgety or has trouble sitting.

If you notice any of these signs, a vet or groomer can safely empty the glands. It's important not to try this yourself unless you're trained, as improper handling can cause injury or infection.
