💭 Let's talk bath time 🛁 As humans, we must bathe multiple times a week in order to stay healthy (and stay in our friend's social graces). However, our dogs are different. Over-frequent bathing may even hinder your pet's health. Here are a few pointers on how to tell if your pooch is getting the right amount of pampering... 🐾 First, does your dog have hair? Some breeds have large amounts of exposed skin, so they are higher maintenance and need to be washed every week. On the flip side, breeds with very long hair like Collies and Shih Tzus are also higher maintenance because their hair can become tangled and matted 🐾 When you give your dog a bath, the oil is stripped from his skin. If you do this too much, your dog's double coat is affected and can prematurely fall out in the process 🐾 Dog grooming experts recommend ear cleaning, nail trimming, and coat brushing if you have the urge to pamper. These will all have positive effects on your pet's health. Combing your dog's coat evenly disperses natural oils, gets rid of dander and dirt, removes loose hair, and feels really good for your pup All in all, most dogs only need a bath every month or so.
