Team EVET, cannot thank our wonderful clients for our very kind Christmas presents. Chocolates, wine, hampers, dog treats and toys, cards, and messages of love. Thank you all so much. Merry Christmas 🎄

Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 to all our clients who have supported us this past year. Santapaws has been busy sending out stockings to our four legged friends.
We will light a candle for all the babies we have lost this year at 7pm tonight and many of our clients will do the same.
Please do send and tag us in any of the photos you take of your lovely pets this Christmas.

We don't just support our four legged clients, we also try to take care of the owners.
Some of you might remember Ruby, she is terrified of vets to a point of becoming a bit bitey. Many practices refused to take her on for a spay even though it was needed. Since we are mobile we have to rely on surgeries to do our referrals.
Tari Vets Shenfield are amazing and very down to earth. Piret has been collaborating with them for her own pets for 4 years and they have been terrific, and they proved it today with how they handled Ruby.
While she was having her surgery Fay took her owner out for breakfast to calm her down.
We are looking forward to helping each other out in the future.

Sweet Dotty passed recently and we helped our lovely client give her the respect she deserved for all the positivity she put into the world during her life. She was an amazing companion, loved wildlife and was very loved by her parents.
They contacted us today and wanted to make sure other often overlooked animals could get help when needed.
They have sent us a donation of 140£ and we have decided that Dotty would have loved it to go towards helping badgers, deer and foxes that she loved so much, and the people who dedicate their time and funds to make sure they do get the care they need.
We will give half to Renee at North East Essex Badger Group and half to Kelly at Deer in Danger in hopes it will make a small difference in the name of Dotty.
Thank you again for your generocity and we hope we have done her proud. ❤️

The fireworks are starting early this year.
Please be mindful of pets that get stressed and panicked over the noise.
If your pet is especially vulnerable there are medications available to help them through it. Please let us know if you need any help.

Yesterday we were called out to a dog who was in great pain due to a massive lump that had grown very rapidly.
On initial examination it was not immediately clear if it was an abscess or a hernia. Doing any kind of intervention on a hernia at home could have been detrimental so we performed a quick ultrasound scan to make sure it was pus and not intestines inside the lump.
After confirming it was an abscess we lanced it and the patient was immediately relieved, going from laying on the couch not engaging, to greeting everyone and running around the garden.
We have a road of aftercare and medication ahead of us but we wanted to share this rare case with you.

This little lady was written off due to lameness issues. Thanks to the owners persistance and having us as second opinion we are getting her back out hacking and seeing how she gets on. We would also like to give a shoutout to her farrier for fitting approproate shoes and pads that made her immediately more comfortable.
She is a lot spicy 🌶 exactly how we like it. God forbid we try to listen to her lungs and heart. All good to pick up and touch her feet though.
Keep posted with us to see her journey. She is definitely not happy with being retired since it is too boring.

Today we had the pleasure of seeing our favourite circus pony again as a side treat due to being at his yard for another client.
He is doing very well, by all accounts has a new lease for life and has healed perfectly.
He has also obviously forgotten about what we had to do to him since he was very friendly to Piret when she went for a cuddle and catch up!

2 weeks ago we were called out to a 27yo pony suffering with diarrhea, weight loss, apparent dementia (or difficuly seeing) and swollen legs.
It all pointed to a protein losing enteropathy, very common in older horses and very much treatable. Think IBS in humans.
Day after start of treatment there was no more swelling of the legs, soon after no more diarrhea and in the 2 weeks she has put on a good amount of weight with no change in feeding.
She also decided to kick her vet for the follow up exam 🤣
We are very excited to see how she gets on in the next few weeks after which we are looking to weane her off her meds. ###

We would like to share this personal project with everyone. Binks came to us emaciated and had to be carried off the lorry. He was only 7 years old. Due to be put to sleep.
With a lot of effort on behalf of Fay to feed him up and Piret providing necessary vet checks and bloods we realised it wasn't a dilapidating disease, simply neglect.
He has been with us for a year now. Happy and fat. Loves a ride out and gets annoyed when he cannot go full throttle like he did in his early racing days.
He still gets regular health and blood tests to make sure he is OK.
He now has a forever home and a best friend he cannot part with. Piret pretends she doesn't get attached but those two are mates for life. And she is the only one he tolerates near his food while eating due to him being starved previously.
❤️

We have been looking forward to these pups and finally they were ready for their jabs, microchips and new homes.
They have grown so much! F1B newfypoo. They are an absolute joy. And so well cared for.
Just a hint 2 sweethearts out of 11 are still looking for their forever home. If any of you are keen for a big fluffy goober.

Some Monday mornings are better than others.
We all have our favourite breed and Piret, being a husky owner herself, was in heaven. It was an absolute pleasure to see so many well cared for pups running around happy and so affectionate.
Thank you to the owner for having us and for allowing us to share the joy.

Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday for the charity dogshow to support Mel's Rescue !
None of us wanted to be the judge because we think everyone is a winner.
We raised an amazing amount to help out cats and dogs in need.
If you participated in any of the raffles (cake, Guess the weight of John, Guess the name of the dog etc) head over to Mel's page to see if you won!
