We had a very joyful appointment yesterday! 9 bundles of labrador fun, all having their microchips and vaccinations done.

Some of them are still looking for their forever home! 🏡 Fully KC registered.

We have just upgraded our equine dental equipment, everyting from regular checkups and rasps to wolf tooth removal and more, seen by a veterinarian.
Sedation optional (though available) and often not needed if approached appropriately.
Let us know if you want us to come and do your horse's yearly checkups and correction. Discount applies if more than 4 horses are seen at the same yard.
We would also recommend doing your scheduled vaccines at the same time to cut down on callout fees.

We went out to vaccinate 10 beautiful bunnies on Friday and got surprised with another curious (and massive) skin growth on the elderly family dog.
*We are tempted to make a joke about a certain body part that should not be found on a female dog*
Thinking on the spot we removed the issue and she was very happy to make friends with us even after it was done.
We wish her a quick recovery!

This little guy had a fight with another cat (presumably) while out exploring and developed a massive abscess in his cheek. He was hiding, not happy and very subdued.
During the examination we were able to empty the abscess with gentle pressure and no added intervention through his eye socket, but had concerns about the state of his eye going forward.
After some medication and attendance by the owners with emptying the abscess daily he has recovered remarkably and living his best life.
This shows you however bad it looks (or smells) there is always a chance there is a simple fix.

A little while back we had the pleasure of seeing this little lady for an unseemly growth on her face. It was mostly cosmetic but got damaged on a regular basis by scratching or just playing.
The owners were told it would either need to stay or get removed under general anaesthesia, which was not preferable due to the risks. We took a more localised approach.
The stump fell off only a few days after initial debulking and she is looking more beautiful than ever.
Thank you for the owners for letting us share her story and for trusting us.

We have been waiting to share this story until we are sure that this little boy is doing OK.
Three weeks ago we were called out to a wonderful couple, who asked us to help their beautiful dog over the bridge. He was getting very thin and feeling poorly, not wanting to eat or engange. At 11 years old this could be a number of internal problems some of which had been speculated by other vets in the past. But Piret wasn’t convinced. With the lovely owners concent, we gave him another chance.
Taking each day at a time, allowing him to recover on a new diet and medication, he seems like a completely different dog! Happy, healthy and full of life. We receive regular updates and pictures that make our day. He is thriving and really enjoying life.
Thank you so much to his lovely owners for trusting us. Long may you enjoy being spoilt. 💙

Sadly we do have to attend a lot of at-home euthanasias, being the ones to send your loved ones on to greener pastures.
We are available and ready to attend, especially for emergent cases. The final kindness shown to the members of your family should be done in their safe space and not in a clinical setting.

Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 to all our clients who have supported us this past year. Santapaws has been busy sending out stockings to our four legged friends.
We will light a candle for all the babies we have lost this year at 7pm tonight and many of our clients will do the same.

We don't just support our four legged clients, we also try to take care of the owners.
Some of you might remember Ruby, she is terrified of vets to a point of becoming a bit bitey. Many practices refused to take her on for a spay even though it was needed. Since we are mobile we have to rely on surgeries to do our referrals.
Tari Vets Shenfield are amazing and very down to earth. Piret has been collaborating with them for her own pets for 4 years and they have been terrific, and they proved it today with how they handled Ruby.
While she was having her surgery Fay took her owner out for breakfast to calm her down.
We are looking forward to helping each other out in the future.

Sweet Dotty passed recently and we helped our lovely client give her the respect she deserved for all the positivity she put into the world during her life. She was an amazing companion, loved wildlife and was very loved by her parents.
They contacted us today and wanted to make sure other often overlooked animals could get help when needed.
They have sent us a donation of 140£ and we have decided that Dotty would have loved it to go towards helping badgers, deer and foxes that she loved so much, and the people who dedicate their time and funds to make sure they do get the care they need.
We will give half to Renee at North East Essex Badger Group and half to Kelly at Deer in Danger in hopes it will make a small difference in the name of Dotty.
Thank you again for your generocity and we hope we have done her proud. ❤️

The fireworks are starting early this year.
Please be mindful of pets that get stressed and panicked over the noise.
If your pet is especially vulnerable there are medications available to help them through it. Please let us know if you need any help.

Yesterday we were called out to a dog who was in great pain due to a massive lump that had grown very rapidly.
On initial examination it was not immediately clear if it was an abscess or a hernia. Doing any kind of intervention on a hernia at home could have been detrimental so we performed a quick ultrasound scan to make sure it was pus and not intestines inside the lump.
After confirming it was an abscess we lanced it and the patient was immediately relieved, going from laying on the couch not engaging, to greeting everyone and running around the garden.
We have a road of aftercare and medication ahead of us but we wanted to share this rare case with you.
