Heartland Senior Sanctuary Under construction Specializing in senior dogs, we allow some seniors the ability to live out their days in our "sanctuary" or home.

Founded originally in 2015, HSDRR hopes to grow and become a leading rescue in the Joplin, Carthage area that can partner with local shelters to pull high risk animals or animals that need rehabilitation. We would strive to try to develop good community relations as well as provide a vet assistance fund for veterinary care, emergency kenneling and care for animals whose owners are fleeing unsafe s

Heartland has had some great support and has saved a lot of lives with your help. We will continue our mission to save lives but in a different way. We will use our voice to educate, bring awareness and advocate. We will continue to help get dogs to rescue and help them raise funds when needed. Personally we will continue to adopt seniors/hospice dogs in need and care for them in their final days. With so many groups out there, donations are few and far between and costs for ongoing care, vet care and food were all coming out of my pocket. I could not continue to operate this way so have decided instead to join forces with other rescues and help where I can. Thank you all for your loyal support and please continue to follow us as we change the look of our page. Follow us for information on how you can help!! We cannot save precious lives without your help. Just because they grew old and developed health problems does not mean they no longer deserve to be treated with kindness and love!! Some younger Sanctuary animals are there as former biters, while young may never be appropriate for a regular home environment. Donate, Advocate, Foster, Volunteer!!!!
