So nobody likes bad news but what about bad news followed by good news? Let’s give it a whirl. One of my male Minors had his and my first prolapse and man was it a sight to witness. I through out a private message to two people I can’t thank enough Bill Strand and Michael Nash. I sent them pics of this, and before I knew it I had sugar soak as a potential treatment. It worked within about 24 hours it had completely been absorbed🙏🏼🤞🏼

We’ll never like sharing this kinda news but, I try and share the good,bad,ugly and beautiful. My female that just laid, just passed. I felt I did everything and then some to keep her going. The main thing I’d like to share is even if you take them to the local exotic vet doesn’t mean it’s going to work out the way you’d hope. Even when you request a calcium injection to induce her as you as an owner suspect some egg binding and are instead convinced to pay for a weekend emergency exam then a X-ray where your told she isn’t egg bound and given some basic medication and go home. Then few days later she passes and you perform your own necropsy and find two fully formed and healthy looking eggs twisted in her oviduct!!! Yup my gut suspicion of her being egg bound was on point. So I called the vet explained the situation and my disappointment in them, I’ll be requesting the X-rays as well. I mean I paid for them I should get to see them right? So lesson in the story to myself it’s ok to question and even doubt yourself but sometimes you as an owner does know best so you do you while also being open to absorbing a little of “them”. Non the less I will be posting some POSITIVE pictures as my current eggs progress and I just got 2.2 group to add to my Furcifer Minor USA project so here is to hopefully keeping this species avalible in the USA even if it is extremely limited and rare🙏🏼🤞🏼🤙🏼

We’ll she laid… Kinda.. noticed on my camera eggs on the surface of the lay bin. Looks like she laid them while in her vines close to the top of the enclosure!! She even had a few intermingled in the vines above the lay bin! There are 3 compromised eggs and 8 viable ones. Based off her before and after weight she may have a few more to plop out or the liquid leaked out of the compromised three and she is done🤷🏻‍♂️ long story short glad she laid wished she would of buried them but, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Is that even the saying😝 news just in make that 9 viable eggs just had another and another at 10 viable total if more are there tomorrow that will be my first time of ever having a chameleon take close to 24hours to lay her entire clutch??? Not sure that’s normal for minors but🤷🏻‍♂️
