NO MORE BITS for my babies! 🐎 🥰❣️
These photos from December 2021 will be the last you’ll see my horses in bridles with bits!!
Riding bitless has always resulted in more relaxed, better performing horses with less behavioral issues. That’s because bitless training using ‘positive’ reinforcement. It builds a deep bond with a horse out of trust and respect vs. training with ‘negative’ reinforcement using pressure and often times pain for control as a result from bits, tie downs, shanks, draw reins, tight nose bands, etc.
You can still get acceptance, softness, collection and responsiveness without using any of these and without hard metal in a horse’s mouth.
I’ve always wanted to stick to only bitless riding in the past. Unfortunately, most disciplines I competed in wouldn’t allow bitless bridles so I continued training my horses both ways.
Thank God education has since found its way into more and more disciplines. Now judges in most sports accept bitless riding in competition!
When people ask how I can feel so comfortable riding without a bit~ I say…
“Because ‘trust’ is safer than control.” 🖤

I’ve been blessed to witness countless unbelievable moments when someone I was assisting or training to care for and/or ride horses was personally affected by this energy. I’ve also felt and benefited from the effects of it when giving therapy to horses as a CESMT. How many times have we heard someone refer to being with their horse as “horse therapy?”
Our soul can feel this energy being near just one horse. If we were surrounded by a herd of horses, the effects can be overwhelming!

The effect of a horse’s larger, more intense electromagnetic field attracts our weaker field and the effects are nearly immediate. Our field becomes in tune with theirs. The state of being ‘in tune’ evokes hundreds of benefits! It gives us the ability to make better decisions, gives us positive emotions such as love, joy, gratitude, compassion, stimulates our immune system, allows us to think more clearly, to learn, to remember, to reason, allows our brain to be more creative, to find more efficient solutions to real problems and we simply feel lighter and more resilient! ❤️‼️

Bottom line~ being with our horses develops our ‘heart intelligence!’ This intelligence creates a deeper connection to ourselves and others which in turn creates huge positive impacts on our relationships!

Don’t throw those old tube socks out! This time of year they can save your animal pain & suffering while saving ‘you’ time & money!! Tube socks are an excellent & affordable solution for preventing and/or protecting your outdoor ‘family’ from struggling with or healing from these irritations: pastern dermatitis, scratches, mud fever, cannon crud (keratosis), sweet itch, leg injuries, rain rot, skin infections, flies… or simply a way to keep white legs white❣️🐎🧦🧦 😍

A horse’s body weight is 60% skeletal muscle.
Any excess degree of muscle contraction or spasm interferes with oxygen flow into the muscles and outflow of toxins. Tight muscles can lead to muscle misalignment, spasms, knots, blocked energy and pain! When this happens you’ll begin to see a vast number of other issues in a horse’s movement, performance and behavior.

Muscles that remain in a contracted state create ‘pain points.’ When muscles are released properly, these ‘pain points’ are released. Since muscle fibers are attached to bones, the muscles stop pulling on the bones and a horse’s natural balance returns.

Releasing pain points improves range of motion, athletic performance, suppleness, muscle tone, responsiveness, stamina, mental and emotional health, speeds healing and SO MUCH MORE!

Yawning in our society has gotten a bad rap. Most see it as a sign of sleepiness or boredom when, in fact, its unrelated to how much sleep we get. Yawning provides us with all sorts of benefits to the system!! Horses occasionally yawn during or after therapy due to release of tension, toxins and/or stress. The next time you feel like stifling a yawn~ DON’T... 😄... This contagious gift causes others to yawn, reminding them to relax, restore, and reboot. So rather than apologizing, tell them, “You’re welcome!”

One of Comanche's favorite things, mounted shooting, was no longer possible after being diagnosed with liver disease a couple years ago. Being hospitalized a few times and nearly dying twice, meant lots of stall rest. His awesome team of doctors, massage therapy and strong spirit make it possible to start again. 😊
