Murphy Dog's Wainwright Blog I am going to climb all 214 of the Wainwright tops in Lakeland with the help of my Dad and Mum and powered mostly by sausages! This is my Mountain Blog.

I am climbing all 214 of the peaks listed in Wainwright's Pictorial guides to the Lakeland Fells. I am doing this with the assistance of my mum and dad - and will be powered mainly by sausages.

Powered by Chicken (not sausages).

So we finally did it! - Dad and mum and me finally climbed up Scafell Pike, so that means the biggest one is now ✅ off the list. This post is called powered by chicken because we have found out that I am probably allergic to sausages ‘cos of them being full of eyelids and bum holes and sawdust and stuff - so have gone “grain free” for a bit. Usually I don’t go in for treehugging faddy diets - but I have to say that I feel amazing 🐶as you will see from my pictures.
Anyway back to the adventure. Saturday 18th January - We went up Scafell Pike from the car park in Wasdale. It’s the classic route - but a good sensible move in January when the weather is so changeable because, according to my dad, “you’d have to be a right muppet to get lost”. It’s steep but steady all the way up the footpath (mum said “ footpath, huh - more like a stone staircase!”). When we got to the hollow stones we hit the snow line - and then it was ace!! I did eating snow and sliding on snow and falling ( On purpose) in snowdrifts up to my tummy and everything!! 🐶. When we got to the very top there was about a hundred people taking selfies and hardly anyone was having a picnic for me to help wiv - and also it was VERY windy and cold - so we decided not to hang about. We jumped off the top and I flapped my ears and mum and dad held onto my tail and we flew all the way to the bottom 🐶!! Only joking, we zoomed down though and had an ace picnic in the car park. I hope you like the video from near the top - look out for my dad’s hat flapping in the wind !!

Hello, I’m back. Sorry it’s been so long ‘n stuff, but I’ve had loads of just general Labrador situations and we’ve been having river and woodland adventures for a bit. So anyway today - on a promise of loads of sausages tomorrow when I go to my nannas - we went for a trot up Steel Fell. One of the main features of Steel fell is that it’s REALLY REALLY steep and humans can’t sprint up it like me - except those bonkers fell runners, who sprint up and down it for fun ( mental!). Also today Steel Fell was very wet and wild, I had my coat on though so when I went skidding into bogs I stayed nice and warm. Mum and dad took a picture of themselves to prove they came wiv me because mum said it’s worth extra 🍰 after if the weather is really grim. So - Steel Fell - first one bagged this year, no chicks en route and now a snooze and sausages all weekend. See ya soon 🐾
