Wilcox Performance Horses had a successful showing at the Oklahoma Spring Show in Tulsa, OK, last weekend!

Jaks Pop Quiz won 13.5 points in the Senior Tie-Down Roping, placing 1st and 2nd with CD (video). Owner Jim Thorp won the Amateur Breakaway the first day to qualify for the AQHA World Show!

Gayle Smooth Landing, owned by Berry Livestock, won first in the Open Breakaway, receiving 6 points and finalizing her qualification to the World Show!

Halfway through the show season and looking forward to the rest of the season.

It's crazy to think a week has already passed since we were in Kentucky at Road to the Horse. I was very honored to have been invited to compete alongside some of the best in the world. It has taken me until now to put in to words what a powerful five days it was. I am thankful to Road to the Horse, the fans, sponsors, and my family and friends for all of the amazing support and encouragement.

I was fortunate enough to win the Wild Card Competition and advance to the Championship. Number 5 was an amazing Pitchfork Ranch filly in the Wild Card against some tough competition. We got off to a great start and she proved to be a great horse throughout the whole competition. I had a short time to move in to the round pen for Round 1 of the Championship. My #14 horse had some obvious mouth pain due to shedding his caps and gave me trouble from the start. I owe Double Dan Horsemanship a big "thank you" for loaning me his brumby halter to finally get things turned around. I was pleased with my c**t once we established trust and clear communication. I am very proud of the progress we made in a short time. My hats off to the other three competitors that did a fantastic job with their horses.

I could not have done this alone. Thank you to my Pen Wrangler Mike Major for all of his help, support, and guidance. Thank you to my wonderful wife, family, fans, and friends for all of their support before, during and after the competition. Thank you to Road to the Horse and its amazing crew for all of their hard work.
