Did you know that theories about the origin of the Pug have caused much debate over the years, some thinking the breed to have developed in the Far East, others thinking it developed in Europe.🐶

It is now generally accepted that the Pug originated in China, from where it spread to Japan and later to Europe. 🗺

It is also highly probable that the short-nosed Pug, crossed with other longer-faced European breeds, lies behind many of the other shorter-headed breeds.

Not every pug is a winter dog. Yes, with a thick double coat and plenty of wrinkles (and extra “padding”), some pugs resemble baby seals. They appear to be ready to play in the Arctic snow.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗴𝘀? 🤔

Do you even thought about how many hours your pug need to sleep? This is how many hours they need to sleep.

𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘀 - Newborn Pug puppies - from 1 day old to 3 weeks - sleep just about all of the time, up to 22 hours per day. They will mainly only be awake to eat; after that's it's right back to bed, warm and safe next to the dam and littermates.

𝗣𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 -The first couple of months - age 2 months to 5 months - a Pug puppy will sleep from 18 to 20 hours per day. This includes both nighttime sleep and naps taken all throughout the day.

𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 - They sleep roughly 14 hours per day. This may seem like a lot - especially when compared to how much we get- however most of this will be done at night.
