Welcome to my shop! I’m a 22-year old young lady from Roanoke, a little valley nestled between the Blue Ridge and the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia. I’m a lover of all things beautiful, and enjoy pursuing not only fiber art, but many other areas in the arts as well. My main calling is as a harpist, and I am pursuing a BM degree in harp performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music and fulfil
ling my dream to study with my favorite harpist and recording artist, Yolanda Kondonassis. Art has always been a big part of my family. When I was a very young child, my family spent our evening hours in our living room, reading books aloud to each other. As we listened to the stories, my parents encouraged us kids to keep our hands busy with drawing, painting, or needlework. We found that this not only refined our appreciation and talent for artwork, but also helped us focus on the stories we were listening to. We have continued this special tradition for years, and even though all three of us kids are grown-up now, we never tire of our evenings of books and art. My love for fiber art was kindled during these precious hours, and so it is no wonder that my favorite thing to do with wool is to create the characters from many of our favorite read-aloud books. There is something special about creating a little animal and watching it come to life in my hands, especially if it is one of the characters from the books that I know and love so well. There is special joy in this, and it is my hope that this joy is expressed and spread in each of the little creations you see in this shop. I opened this shop to help take care of some of the expenses of going to a music conservatory, as well as to share the joy of my creations with you. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope that my shop and my story has put a smile on your face today!
