Wishing K9 Bolt a very long and healthy retirement! Thank you Sheriff Brown for making sure he had a soft landing for the rest of his life!
K-9 Bolt has officially retired and is now in the care of the Walker family. Sheriff Ezell Brown and the entire Newton County Sheriff's Office extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who reached out with support and personal concerns regarding Bolt. While every concern was understood, the necessary protocols had to be followed.
Additionally, the NCSO had Bolt examined by a local veterinarian before transferring his care to the Walker family, and he was confirmed to be in good health. There are no remaining vet bills for Bolt's care.
We wish K-9 Bolt a happy and well-deserved retirement.
Yay Jonny!
🚨 August 27, 2024 6:00PM UPDATE 🚨
I just got off the phone with Sergeant Kilgore. He is on his way back home with K9 Jonny.
K9 Jonny was seen by the amazing staff at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sandy Springs today. The prognosis given is good news. K9 Jonny was given medication with directions to rest and take the medication as prescribed. The odd part was the scribbling on the bottom of the discharge paperwork that talked about a doggo spa day, with belly rubs and specifically 1.5 treats every 10 minutes 🧐. The smeared paw print leaves us scratching our heads at who might have added that. 🐾🐾🐶
Thank you again to BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sandy Springs, and the THOUSANDS of comments of well wishes for K9 Jonny and Sergeant Kilgore. We, the Senoia Police Department as well as K9 Jonny sure felt the love and prayers.

Update on K-9 Jonny: August 27, 2024
Jonny was sent home last night to rest with still no clear indication of what caused his medical episode.
Further testing is being scheduled in Auburn, Alabama to help determine the cause of his illness.
Please continue to keep K-9 Jonny and his handler, Sgt. Kilgore, in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this process.
Thank you all for your heartfelt prayers and support!

I asked Chief Roscoe if her partner, K9 Goose, could have her choice of one of the toys I sent! I love that Goose picked the smallest one!!! Sweet girl! It’s like she left the big ones for the shelter babies!
As his procession passes the officers from jurisdictions they are travelling through, they will fall in at the back of the line.
