FAQs
Q1: When do you expect to have your next litter of pups?
Litters have been born 7 months apart. We currently estimate the next litter would be born the 2nd week of May, 2021 which would make them available to be re-homed Mid July.
Q2: Can we be put on a wait list, or will you contact us when you have pups available?
No, we do not have a wait list or make calls to notify when we have pups available. This just hasn't worked out very well for multiple reasons. The first reason is if you've already made the decision you want to adopt a puppy, then we expect you will want to look for other available options if we don't currently have any available. Additionally, life situations often change where something has happened between litters where folks decide adopting a puppy is no longer feasible for their current situation. The most important reason is that we don't know until the puppies are born of how many pups will be available and what their genders, or colors will be and therefore prefer to wait until we know this information. Otherwise you may be on the wait list but could be waiting for over a year if you have your heart set on a particular gender, color, and/or fur texture. Nobody tends to like that situation when you're ready to adopt your fur baby today and then have to wait for the next litter to arrive, only to find out the gender you wanted is no longer available. We therefore try to avoid any potential situations which can upset people or feeling disappointed. Our goal is to always ensure everyone is extremely pleased with the puppy they adopt.
Q3: What is your process to be able to adopt a puppy when there aren't any currently available?
- We don't accept reservations until pups are born.
- We recommend clicking on our page "Like" button, that way you receive notifications whenever we create a post.
- Once we confirm we are expecting puppies, which is typically 1-2 weeks prior to birth, we will post an early heads up post letting everyone know we are expecting soon. This 1-2 week timing is when you want to start paying close attention to further notification announcements since the next posted message will be the birth announcement when we start accepting reservations.
- Once pups are born we will make a post stating the number of girls and boys, and start accepting deposits to reserve a litter pick order number.
Q4: How do I reserve a litter pick order number?
1. After birth announcement post, send us a message through FB messenger indicating you would like to make a deposit to reserve a pick. If we don't get back to you right away, please be patient, we will definitely get back to you within a day.
2. Deposits will be accepted via PayPal in the amount of $50 and processed in the order we received your message. Message received order will determine your pick number (1-7) reservation. We will not accept any deposits after we received the deposit for the last available pup.
3. We will provide you your pick reservation number prior to accepting your deposit, so you can decide to move forward or not.
4. Please indicate in your initial pick request communications if you prefer a girl, boy, or don't care at this time we just want a pup.
5. A receipt will be provided to you with all information above after we receive the deposit
Q5: Does my deposit guarantee me a particular puppy?
Not at that time unless you are pick #1 reservation and would therefore have the pick of the litter. The deposit reserves you a pup and a particular pick order number reservation. We may be able to provide you an actual gender as well. For example, if there are 7 puppies and there are 4 girls, 3 boys and you reserved pick #5 of the litter and you would like a girl. We would be able let you know if a girl will be availble or not with the reservation of the 5th pick. We just wouldn't be able to tell you if a particular girl would be available or not at that time.
Q6: When and how do I make my actual puppy pick selection?
We will contact you once the puppies reach 4-5 weeks of age to make your pick selection. We will let you know which pups are available when it is your turn to pick. We will be posting pictures and videos of the pups on a weekly basis on our page to assist you in making your pick selection.
Q7: Can I make my pick selection in person or send you a message for my pick?
Either is ok. Pups can either be picked via message, where future pictures, videos, weights, personality traits will be posted on FB page to assist you for non in person pick selection. You are also welcome to schedule an appointment with us once pups reach 4-5 weeks of age to stop by and see the puppies in person. At 4-5 weeks, pups are just starting to walk and wander on their own and becoming very playful with their siblings. They are small but not too small to hold.
Q8. What happens if I have my heart set on a girl, boy, or particular pup and it is no longer available when it's my turn to pick?
You will be provided an option to make another pup pick selection, or if you decide you rather not then we will refund you your deposit. If you decide for a deposit refund, then everyone behind you in pick order will move up in pick order selection. We will then reach out to those who requested to be put on the waiting list to fill any remaining available picks.
Q9: What do I do to get on standby/waiting pick order list once all picks have been reserved?
Just send us a message requesting to be added to the standby list to have your name added. We will reach out to you in order received if a pick becomes available and request a deposit to reserve that pick. We expect a resonse within 24 hours once we contact you, or we move on to next person on the standby list. Typically, if a pick becomes available it will happen anytime between 1-6 weeks of age. Don't be discouraged to request being added to the standby list during that time. With our last litter we had 4 people decide to no longer adopt after making their deposit and reserving a pick.
Q10: What are circumstances you would not return my deposit if we decide to no longer adopt?
Once pick selections have been completed, anytime after pups turn 5 weeks of age. If you don't show up for your scheduled pickup date without prior notification cancelation, we will assume you changed your mind and no longer refund your deposit.
Q11: When can we pick up our new fur baby?
Pups can be picked up after reaching 8 weeks of age. Michigan law forbids pups being separated from the mother before 8 weeks of age is reached. We will schedule a pickup appointment day/time with you.
Q12: When is full payment due and what type of payments do you accept?
Payment is due at time of pickup or prior if you choose. We accept cash, check or Paypal. We recommend making deposits via Paypal. It provides YOU buyer protection insurance. We get charged in return for Paypal's buyer protection insurance. There are a lot of online puppy scammers out there, we are not one of them and therefore want to make sure you feel comfortable sending a payment prior to meeting.
Q13: Are vaccinations included?
At 7 weeks of age we take the pups to our vet where a full wellness checkup is performed and they receive their 1st set of vaccines. Wellness check includes heart, lungs, mouth, teeth, eyes, nose and ear checks. 1st set of vaccines includes de-wormer and 1st of 3 set of distemper. This paperwork will be included at time of pickup and includes follow up vaccination schedule dates. Follow up vaccines are your responsibility. It typically takes 4-6 months for a pup to be fully vaccinated, where their rabies shots are the last stage of vaccines and done within that 4-6 month age period.
Q14: How much is the adoption fee?
Please message us for this information.
Q15: Is the deposit part of the full adoption fee, or a separate charge?
The deposit gets applied towards the total adoption fee. A receipt will be provided to you indicating the amount due at pickup, which will be the total fee, minus the deposit amount received.
Q16: Where are you located?
We are in Warren, MI nearby 11mile and Ryan roads, nearby Butcher Park.
Q17: Do you ship?
Sorry, not at this time. We do local pickups only.
Q18: What are mom and dad's weight, what size can I expect pup to get once full grown?
Mom=9lbs, Dad=11lbs. On general most pomapoos grow to be 5-15lbs in size. The majority of our pups have been in the 8-12lb range once full grown.
Q19: What breeds are Mom and Dad?
Both mom and dad are Pomapoos. The pups will therefore be a Gen 2 Pomapoo or also known as an F2 Pomapoo.
Q20: Do these dogs shed?
The Pomapoo is a mix of the Fluffy hair Pomeranian and the curly hair Toy Poodle. Pomeranian's are known to shed and the Toy poodle does not shed. The majority(approx 80%) of Pomapoos do not shed but some do if they have more Pomeranian than poodle traits but tend to shed less than a purebreed Pomeranian. Both mom and dad are Pomapoos which do not shed, where we feel confident in stating our Pomapoo pups will not shed. This is a benefit of getting a Gen2 or later Pomapoo over a Gen 1 Pomapoo. Expected traits can be more accurately predicted with Gen 2 or later generation Pomapoos.
Q21: Can you share pictures of mom and dad?
Please see pictures included with this post.
Q22: Can you share pictures of previous litters?
Please see pictures included with this post.
Q23: Why have I not received a response to any of my questions?
In most instances it is because you have not made a profile on Facebook, or it is not open for other's to view. We screen everyone who wish to adopt a pup and the way we do that is through the use of facebook by quickly viewing your profile and trying to get a sense of the type of person who is wanting to adopt one of our pups. We really like to get a feel that all our pups are going to good homes and will be part of a loving family. So far that has been the case with everyone who has adopted.
