Introducing Walter and Wallace 🐾

These two boys were found, along with their sister, possibly abandoned.

They are mixed breed pups, around 4-5 months old. They try very hard to "sit" for their dinner, however have missed out of vital puppy training so are looking for experienced, patient forever homes.

Microchip Days this week 😊

🐾 Microchip days at HDC offices- no appointment necessary 🐾
Is your dog microchipped? If not, we’re holding microchip sessions in Waihī, Paeroa and Ngātea – just pop in during the times below:
📍 Waihī – Tuesday, 2 September 2025
📍 Paeroa – Wednesday, 3 September 2025
📍 Ngātea – Thursday, 4 September 2025
🕑 All sessions run from 2–3 pm at our HDC offices.
💵 Cost: $35
Chip numbers will be added to the National Dog Database (used by all councils). You can also choose to register it with the Companion Animals Database yourself.
🚗 How it works: Leave your dog in the car, pay at the office, then head to the car park with your receipt and your dog.
🐶 Important:
– Dogs must be on a lead at all times.
– Keep a safe distance from others.
– If your dog is classified as dangerous/menacing, reactive or anxious, please call us to arrange a separate time with the dog control team.
📋 Eligibility:
Your dog must be registered with the Hauraki District Council for the current year.
Let your neighbours and dog-owner mates know too.

Indigo is a shy girl who needs a patient, kind owner willing to help her build her confidence. She would thrive being part of a family who are happy to include her in all their adventures.

She tends to be submissive around other dogs but does love to play.

Adoption fee is $50
New owner must spey.

Indigo is registered, microchipped and has had her parvo vaccination. She is up to date with her flea and worm treatments.

🚶‍♂️ Walks well on a lead
🐕 Plays well with other dogs
🤗 Loves to snuggle
🥣 Sits nicely and waits for her food

Twix wins hearts wherever she goes. As well as being super cute, she has the sweetest, calmest nature.

PLEASE DESEX YOUR DOGS and don't abandon unwanted pups.

There is no guarantee they'll end up with the right people, or even found at all when left on the side of the road.

Rescues and pounds nationwide are overflowing and at crises point.

These five wee faces have been found in our district over just ten days - all presumed dumped. Aged around 3-5 months, lost and confused.
All are now safe, warm, well fed, worm and flea treated.
