Jax has more hobbies and extracurricular activities than we do. Dog walker 3x a week, agility, and now treiball. Treiball is basically urban sheep herding using exercise balls. Holy crap this dog is super smart and needs stimulation. How the heck do people keep up with purebred border collies?

In his spare time, he makes ridiculous sounds while playing with Gatsby, nudges our hands off our computers for attention, and herds Gatsby away from the cat and windows when he is barking. He’s an amazing dog.

As expected, Gatsby and Jax have become BFFs. Homer doesn’t like the antics of the other two playing, but he and Jax have enrolled in agility class together so I anticipate Homer will find some common ground.

We usually joke about how exhausting it would be to have a border collie. You run the dog for 6 miles and they will just look at you afterwards and say “what’s next?”. Well we are the proud owners of Jax who is part border collie?! Time to sign up for more than just agility classes to keep him occupied 😂

Meet Jax! He arrived from Kauai last week and is fitting in nicely with the family. Gatsby and Jax are besties and LOVE to play. Jax backs away from the cat when she warns him which is great. Jax respects Homer by being calm around him and they even cuddled today.

We would like to thank Jax’s amazing foster mama for keeping him out of the shelter and providing him with basic obedience training. It definitely shows that Jax came from a loving home prior to ours. We are happy to have Jax and we will definitely continue to give the group updates on all three Kauai pups 🥰

Oh and his DNA kit has been sent…stay tuned 😊

We stayed at a cabin at the beach last week. The boys loved running around in the sand and offering crab carcass they found to us. Gatsby dove head first into the water and the look of regret on his face was priceless.
