This is a page on the Rehabilitation I do with my CAG parrot sunny, the trick/harness training I do with my conures, and my journey as I start the long climb to be a avian specialist veterinarian
It's a sad day for me and my flock today. This lovely man has reached the end of his life. Please help me by celebrating his life. He was always a funny little chicken since he was a baby, he loved attention and to just cuddle in your lap. He was a very sweet and loveable rooster. My boy Rocky cuz you were always a fighter may you rest In peace.

A rant :/ : this covid 19 thing is really starting to get to me, even though all my little loves are very much enjoying the extra time with me it effects my future I'm trying to become an avian and exotics specialty veterinarian but it seems to get farther and farther away, and with this covid thing there is talk about keeping the campus closed through fall.... how am I supposed to do my lab classes? This will probably add another year or more to my pre vet degree and it is pretty discouraging I was getting so close.... picture of my beautiful flock.
8 duck (they will be moved into another incubator when chickens get close) and 33 chicken. I'll know an exact count of fertile and not fertile in about 4 days. And yes these will be for sale. Healthy layers and meat birds.
Fall semester starts today! I got this I can do it. I may be a stretched thin between 5am gym time, caring for my parrots and giving them love and attention, caring for my baby chickens and ducks, making sure they are growing up strong and healthy, house work and making sure my son gets back and forth to school! I literally have zero time for anything else but will be 100% worth it in the end. Think about your goals and go after them dont wait till it's to late. I'll be cheering for you if you find yourself needing motivation! We can do it!
So my little guys are doing great growing fast. This little one is named Phoenix it's a chicken and its teaching the others how to escape lol
The Farm Life day 2: Yesterday went well. I fed Rocky the electrolyte supplement every 2 hours and a mash (his food mixed with the supplement and meal worms) He is a different baby now! He perked up so much yesterday and about sometime in the early evening he started eating and drinking on his own! Still unsure if he is a chicken or Quail though. I had a nice chat with a local chicken breeder and they offered me a friend a little closer to his age. Since the others are so tiny. This morning he perked right up when i went to check on him and came right to me. My parrots are mildy jealous at the fact I had to dedicate 90% of my time yesterday so they will get some special treats today for being patient with me. I will not be feeding him today as he is eating on his own now :D I'm going to step back a little and let him bond with his new friend. I am 80% sure he will survive and grow up to be a lovey companion! Stay tuned for more.

This tray idea has made my mornings so much easier! Also trying the chop to see if it reduces waste :) I'll still mix fresh stuff in it today its apple and a nutrient berry

Everyone meet nugget!!! He is a DNA sexed Male sun conure he came to my home today. His previous owner was a wonderful wonderful lady who took really good care of him :)

Summer semester starts the 28th no breaks go hard i want my goal
Sunny had a night-terror last night and fell in her cage and got a scratch right above her beak. :( spent 20 min calming her down she is becoming more and more willing to come to me without biting me. she is starting to see me as a safe place and its an amazing feeling.
I'm a proud bird mom!!! Today sunny was having her out of cage time and I was in the kitchen she decided that she needed to be in the kitchen also and flew right to me!!!! She got a little scared I picked her up. No bites!!!! My hard work with her is going places and she is beginning to fully trust me!!!! Its been a little over 2 years! I have tears of joy my beautiful girl is learning trust!! Every breakthrough with her is a huge deal!! I'm so proud of her and myself.

Guys please please learn from my mistake I had my baby aria out with me now we are at the vet office I turned my back for not even 2 min and she had flown to my African grey cage and my grey bit her toe. It's not broke but she still might lose her toe if the swelling doesnt come down. I turned around for not very long (I'm going to put plexiglass onto of my greys cage when my little guys are out from now on.) And just please remember bigger birds shouldn't play with the little ones. Please send healing for her that she doesnt lose her toe.
