❤️ FREE ASSISTANCE UPDATING YOUR PETS MICROCHIP 🎉

- I can assist you by scanning the pet first to detect if it does indeed have a microchip. If the pet is microchipped, a unique 15-digit-long number shows on the scanner screen.

I then walk you through the steps online, depending which database your pet is registered to. If your pet is already under your name, we can update the contact details on the microchip together.

If your pet is still listed under the breeder or possibly a previous owner, I help you through the steps to submit a Transfer of Ownership Request.

🆘️⛔️ remember - it is your duty as the owner to ensure your pets details are up to date - NOT YOUR VETS ⛔️🆘️

** PLEASE NOTE **
- I do NOT do this for you; you the owner will still be submitting the request for your pets chip.
- Any fees required by the database company is to be paid directly to them (preferably with a card at the time I'm helping you).
- Online transfer owner fees range from $7-20 depending on the database

Welcome to our new members! You are probably wondering who Lucy is and why our tags are so Lucky 🥰

So.. heres a little story about Lucy and our tags:

Pretty little Lucy was found wandering the Peakdowns Highway/City Gates of Mackay. It took us an entire week to track down her owner, who unfortunately didn't want Lucy anymore.

Lucy came to stay with me (Taylah) while we got her vet work done. Unfortunately at her very first appointment, we learnt Lucy had the deadly Heartworm Disease. Treatment was very expensive and something I was unable to afford.

Lucy's Lucky Tags was born to assist me raise funds for Lucy's vet work. After a long treatment, she was adopted in to a very beautiful home and is now heartworm free 🥰🥰

Comment INTERESTED if you'd like to know when MS Pet Services is next in Mackay for a Microchipping Day!

I had a full on afternoon yesterday microchipping a few dogs and cats in town.
This inspired me to put up a reminder about our microchipping laws in QLD.

All cats and dogs must be microchipped before 12 weeks of age OR change of ownership, this includes sale, adoption, give away or gifts.
This is the law and any one selling or giving away an animal without this done is not only breaking the law, but contributing to the animal they’ve produced/rehomed potentially being lost in the future with no way to be reunited with their family.

Microchipping is a quick, minimally painful procedure, as I say to all my clients, the paperwork takes longer than the actual microchipping.

If you are rehoming/selling a dog or cat please make sure you go on the registry and transfer them to their new owner, I went to chip a few animals yesterday and after scanning them for a chip(I always check before I chip) they already had one and their owners weren’t aware.
You also need a BIN number in QLD to legally rehome puppies/kittens and that’s super easy to acquire and doesn’t take long

Also just to add, all puppies and kittens must be wormed on a regular schedule before rehoming. The appropriate schedule is 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks then once a month until 6 months, then 3 monthly(or otherwise depending on your worming product). You can get the appropriate worming solution for your animals from one of our lovely local vets.

Worms can and will kill an animal, quite quickly sometimes for small puppies and kittens

Always feel free to message my page if you’d like advice on anything animal and never be afraid to reach out for help if you can’t supply anything for your animals, I’m always happy to help where I can.

My microchipping service is offered in Blackwater and Emerald(surrounds as well in the right circumstances) and only costs $30 per animal including microchip registration costs.
I come to you so even if you can’t drive or have an animal who is anxious, not friendly etc. I can help.
Just let me know before arrival if they have any behavioural needs.

Had a beautiful ending to the day today and an excellent example of why microchipping your cats and dogs is not only a legal requirement but essential to your animals safety and well-being.

I love to go and scan lost animals if I can and reunite them with owners but I also help out people who choose to scan animals in their free time but don’t have access to the database to contact owners.

Due to the privacy act only authorised people can access the microchip databases, I’m lucky enough to be one of them.

When I am contacted by someone who scans a lost animal with the microchip number I need to look up the details and contact the owner on the finders behalf and pass details the finders details on to the owner in a very careful way to maintain privacy but also try my best to get animals home.
Sometimes this can be tricky and time consuming but it’s so worth it for stories like this.

Tonight I was contacted by a lovely lady in Mackay who is an absolute trooper, she works crazy hours and still goes out in her free time to scan lost animals, day and night. She had scanned a cat and needed the details checked and owner contacted.

Once I sent the owners her phone number they contacted her quite confused about the cat found with their details linked, then they heard her name, beautiful Dutchess had been missing for 2 years!

Tonight this family will be reunited with their loved family pet after 2 years of not knowing what had happened, all because of her microchip and this beautiful volunteer who went to scan her in her own free time.

Please microchip your animals, including your cats and please check the details are up to date.

Taylah from Lucy's Lucky Tags not only scans lost animals but makes up tags for animals she finds and reunites with their owners in Mackay. All she asks for in return for the tags is a donation to help fund making more tags
