Nala had been living at a vets clinic for several years before she came to me. As you can see her deformaties dont hold her back from enjoying life. The toy mouse has no chance 😅🥰

Way behind on updates...
Welcome to Miffy, who moved in today after having spent near 1.5years with the rspca. She has an abusive past and is scared of humans and being handled. Following Immys passing 2weeks ago Dusty is feeling rather lonely. And rabbits are social animals. Dusty being quite old and calm will hopefully help Miffy to settle in and feel comfy in her new forever home 🥰

Tried to take a nice photo of all dogs in front of this gorgeous sun set tonight. This is the best they came up with after several attempts. (Ronnie decided to p**p next to me instead of being in the picture) 🤷‍♀️😆

This little girl from Saving Macedonian Strays arrived today. She was shot in July, but has made a fantastic recovery. Still walks with a wobble though. Managed the long trip well, and is certainly a very hungry kitty. Welcome to the family ###

From December 31st XLs will be banned. Many have died already. Thousands still looking for a loving, commited home for life to take them through the ban - but that needs to happen before the end of the year.

The cat gang. Sylvester must have been feral when he was found badly injured. He is unable to use his crippled hind legs. Took many years to gain his trust. Now he is a cuddle monster.
Louis's owner had to go into a care home, leaving him and his brother behind at 16yrs old. Rehomed them both, but sadly his brother passed away 6months later. Louis is still going strong.
Mabel is a little greek 3legged beauty. She is also incontinent. Ali I took over from a neighbour , who had to move and couldnt take her with her.

The woofs: all Oldies (by now)...Vita was found paralysed and has come a long way since being rescued. Vally is the top dog of the group. Nina arrived as Vitas friend. She is missing a rear paw. Oldie boy Ronnie had to be rehomed due to the landlord not wanting him there anymore.

The garden is home to 8 ex-commercial hens: Indie , Inaya, Jammy, Juno, Jib, Jojo, Jaws and Jingle Bells. Commerical hens are slaughtered at 18months, as thats when they slow down in egg production as they get older, thereby making it less 'profitable'. Local rescue pick up locations are Dolgellau (Fresh Start For Hens) , Chicken Rescue (Llangurig) , Boncath (British Hen Welfare Trust)

Lets introduce the rabbits: Immy and Dusty are both very old. Rabbits should never be kept on their own. They are social animals. These two I adopted from Rspac bryn y mean near Conwy seperately many years ago. After Immys husbun Merlin passed away , she successfully bonded with Dusty. Bonding new rabbits can be difficult. Opposite s*x usually get on best. Obviously both are spayed/neutered. Rabbits do need a LOT of space. Rabbits are the worst kept pets in uk sadly, as many people dont do proper research before hand.

Firstly to make it clear ODO's Home is NOT a registered charity. My little sanctuary started 2008 with 2 guinea pigs, and has grown a lot since then. I am only one individual trying to help as many animals as I can out of my own pocket. My main passion is to help those hardest to rehome - the old, disabled and those who have been in shelter the longest. This page is aimed to promote other people to hopefully follow suit and adopt more animals, as all rescues are beyond full. I would like to use this page to encourage people in the care for special needs animals, as well as support other local rescue work. Together we can make the world a better place x
