Say hello to our October & November pups! 👋 In October, 44 dogs joined the rescue, and in November, 43 dogs joined us 🎉 Here’s a little more info on the doggos 🐶:

Ages:
- 15 newborns (under 6 weeks)
- 43 puppies (6 weeks - 6 months)
- 22 adults (6 months - 8 years)
- 7 seniors (8+ years)

This group also included:
- 2 puppies from a cruelty case
- 1 nursing mom
- 3 dogs displaced after Hurricane Helene
- 7 parvo puppies
- 28 bully breed dogs, including 6 adults

As of the end of last month, we’ve saved over 400 dogs together this year! 🙌 Thank you, thank you, thank you to our amazing fosters, coordinators, transporters, supporters and everyone else who played a part in making this happen. We are beyond thankful 💜

Want to help us continue this lifesaving work in 2025?! Consider donating to our current fundraiser that’s running through the end of this year! We may have been able to help so many more dogs this year, but it also means we’ve depleted a lot of our funds in the process (we’ve spent over $50,000 more than we’ve brought in this year 😳).

If you are looking for a big boy who thinks he’s a lapdog, ✨Tricky Ricky✨ is your man! Named after a popular pie at a local pizza shop, this fellow is the nicest guy! He’s easy going and treasures lap time with his foster mom. At 3 months old and 25 pounds he could get as big as 60 pounds, but that’s just a guess.

Tricky Ricky is one of two remaining pups from the pizza litter 🍕You can come meet him at the Holiday Market event on Sunday 12/15 from 11-3PM at ❤️

What could better be better than four cheese pizza? Brindle beauty ✨Quattro Formaggi✨

This girl had a really hard time with Parvovirus and ended up at the vet needing IV fluids. Luckily she’s one tough cookie. Now you’d never know how sick she was when she came to us! Quattro Formaggi is a fun loving puppy and would love to go to a home with another dog to play with. Don’t have a dog? No problem! She’s the perfect companion for runs or hikes!

Lucy, you got some splainin’ to do! How’d you get so adorable?!

Lucy is thought to be a 10-month old chihuahua mix, but her foster mom suspects she’s a little bit pug too, with cute fawn ears, smokey eye makeup, a curly-q tail, and a cute little underbite giving her that sweet sweet pouty face.

She loves playing and exploring outside, does great on walks, and she knows what the leash means! She also really shines as an expert level snuggler, and she is definitely a lapdog! Under the blanket is her favorite place!

She is still learning how to alert for potty breaks but she has not any accidents in her crate.

Her previous temp foster reported she gets along with dogs of all sizes, and would do well in a home with a canine companion. At her current foster home, she is working on her cat manners. We think she would do best either in a household without a cat or with a very playful cat, who is willing to play with her. She hasn’t been good at taking no for an answer, but luckily she has finally convinced her foster’s cat to play with her.

Lucy is a lovable, playful, cuddly pup, looking for a forever lap or laps, and she can’t wait to meet you!

Give HOPE this Giving Tuesday!

It’s one of the biggest fundraising days of the year for non-profits. Believe it or not, we typically don’t fundraise around Giving Tuesday, but this year is different.

The good news: we’ve had one of our biggest years ever and have taken in significantly more dogs (over 400 and counting!!) this year than in past years.

The bad news: our expenses this year have been significantly more than what we’ve brought in from fundraising and adoption fees. To be transparent, our expenses year-to-date have been $55,000 more than what we’ve brought in year-to-date.

The reality is, our savings will only last so much longer and we cannot continue to operate the way we have been this year over the next year. We’ve been able to help SO many more dogs, and have been able to provide care to lots of medical needs dogs, but if we want to be able to do this long-term, we have to raise more money.

It may seem like a pretty big ask, but we’re trying to raise $25,000 by the end of this year.

When you donate to Hope, you’re donating to a rescue that is 100% volunteer-run and receives no government funding. Your donation dollars go directly toward helping dogs like the ones we’ve taken in this year, and covering costs associated with things like:

MATERNITY (mamas and litters)
So far this year, we’ve taken in a total of 27 litters and 12 mama dogs.

HEARTWORM
A total of 7 dogs have undergone heartworm treatment while in our care this year.

DENTAL
We’ve spent over $35,000 on dental surgeries this year. We've taken in a lot of dogs that received minimal or no dental care throughout their lives and it usually results in very expensive vet care that is necessary for the comfort and health of the dog.

EMERGENCY
We’ve spent just shy of $36k on ER vet services this year. We take in a lot of critical care dogs that need medical attention immediately, and the costs just add up.

SPAYS/NEUTERS
We believe that spaying and neutering pets is critical and so important to making a difference with pet overpopulation in NC. We have paid for and covered the cost associated with over 325 spay and neuter surgeries this year for dogs in our care or puppies that were adopted from us.

Help us reach our goal and directly make an impact on the dogs we are able to rescue in 2025 by donating to, or sharing, this fundraiser!

🐾 I’m a 3 month old pittie mix bundle of joy. I’m an energetic, friendly, and loving boy who’s looking for his forever home. I’m young, but I’m already on my way to being fully housebroken and know some basic commands.

🐾 I’m very food motivated and will be easy to train. I play with my foster sister all day long, so I’d do well with other friendly dogs in a home. I’m a puppy, so I have an accident in the house every once in a while, and I might not ALWAYS listen, but I’m so sweet and cute that I make up for it.

Meet ✨WINNIE✨, a lovely 12-year-old mixed breed dog weighing 43 pounds.

Winnie is a senior pup with a warm and affectionate personality, ready to bring joy to your home. Winnie came to Hope Animal Rescue after her previous owner had died. Though heartbroken, Winnie was well cared for all of her life and is in great health!

Winnie loves to relax on the couch with her favorite humans, soaking up affection and belly rubs. Her ideal day includes leisurely walks, tasty treats, and enjoying her favorite chew toys. She knows a few tricks like “sit, “shake, and occasionally “lay down, making her a delightful companion.

This sweet girl also has a playful side. She loves to sneak onto the bed for a cozy nap but is equally comfortable in her crate at night, showcasing her good manners. Winnie is great in the car and comfortable in public settings, making her the perfect best friend. Meet Olive 🫒❤️

This girl is only 10 months old and hasn’t had the best start in life, but that is all behind her now! She is covered in scabs from severe mange, has very little confidence, and the shelter suspects she lived outside her whole life. Despite all that, she’s sweet as can be and still just wants the love she deserves 🥹

She has been having regular baths and some good, deep sleep. She’s learning that life isn’t so bad these days and settling in well with her foster

Our photo contest for the 2025 calendar was supposed to end Sunday night, but we’re still over $6,000 away from reaching our goal of raising $10,000. So...we’ve decided to do something we’ve NEVER done before and EXTEND THE CONTEST!

That’s right - you now have two extra days to enter the contest and vote for your favorite pet! The contest will now end on Tuesday, 11/26 at 9 PM ET. That means there’s still plenty of time to enter your pet and wind up in the 2025 calendar!

Hi, I’m 🐾DEXTER🐾 I’m an adorable 16lb Beagle mix estimated to be about 6 years old.

I was found as a stray. Life on the streets was tough for a little guy like me, so I was glad to get some TLC from my foster parents when I got rescued. I was weak and was having some skin problems when I first arrived, but now I’m doing so much better! I’ve been eating well and have regained my strength - I’m strong enough to jump right up on the couch with you!

My favorite thing in life is... you! I love my humans and I always want to be close to them. I love going for walks with my humans, and I’m super easy to walk. I get along well with other animals, especially those closer to my size.

I love a good snuggle. I’m a true lap dog, and I’ll binge watch your favorite TV show nuzzled into your side for hours! I’m also house trained and crate trained, so if you’re busy I tend to go right to my crate and burrow into my blankets. I love a cozy crate, almost as much as I love my humans. I sleep through the night in my crate with no problem, and if you sit down with me right when you wake me up in the morning, you are in for some serious cuddling! I’m as excited to see you as a little puppy!

In general, I’m in good health and will make a great companion for someone who is looking for a sweet, chill, funny, and affectionate companion. I would also be a great choice for a first time dog parent. No drama here, just constant love and cuddles! Did I mention how cute I am? You should apply for me and see for yourself!
