Hi! I’m Millie Doggy Brown 💕, a sweet, affectionate, playful, floppy little puppy girl who will steal your heart and your shoes! I was found as a stray and brought into a shelter by a nice human. The vets there estimated that I was about 4 months old and would grow to be a medium size 40ish pound adult. My foster dad thinks I’m a pittie mix. I have a beautiful white and chocolate brown coat and baby Yoda ears, and weigh about 12 pounds right now- but I’m growing every day!

Though I can be shy at first, I have a big personality! I get along very well with my big 70lb sister, and a previous temporary foster has said I get along very well with cats. I haven’t had any interest in my current foster’s cats.

I do well in a crate, and I’m learning to walk on a leash. I’ve been doing well with house training, and am starting to learn how to tell my parents when I need to go out. I absolutely love hanging out on the couch with my foster dad and my sister, and I’m ALWAYS up for a good cuddle. I aspire to be your lap dog and couch companion!

Since I am a baby girl, I will do best in a home with someone who can take me out every 2-3 hours for potty breaks. I do really well overnight and only go out once. I will also be very happy with dog siblings, once I get comfortable with them.

Hi, I'm ✨ROXI✨ – aka Roxanne, Rox, Sweet Baby Girl. Well - I’m not exactly a baby – I’m about 9 years young, but I am incredibly sweet, loving, gentle, and affectionate. To meet me is to love me!

I get along great with other dogs, big and small, but can’t say I’m a big fan of cats (or at least the one I’ve met). I’m crate trained, sleep great through the night, I’m learning to walk well on my leash, already know some basic commands, loves riding in the car, and
generally just cuddling with my people on the couch.

I came into the shelter as a stray and in fairly rough shape with some skin issues, in desperate need of a dental, a mammary mass, and a double ear infection. I am also heartworm positive. But don’t worry, all of this is totally treatable!!! In fact, I’ve already had my spay, dental, and mass removed. My skin is improving, and I started the process of undergoing HW treatment. It’s amazing what a little TLC can do to transform a life.

The best part – besides how much better I already feel and look - is you don’t even have to wait for me to finish my treatment before you can bring me home! I am part of HAR’s "foster-to-adopt" program, which means I can be with my forever family ASAP as a “foster”, while HAR covers the cost of all my medical procedures. And then the adoption becomes official once my treatments are complete! It’s a win-win!

✨Raisin’s New Year’s Resolution: Find Her Forever Home✨

Raisin is a six-year-old chihuahua mix who’s had a bit of a bumpy ride to get here—literally. A run-in with a car landed her in the shelter with some bumps, bruises, and internal injuries to boot. Thanks to an amazing vet team and her resilient spirit, this comeback kid is all patched up and ready to take on the world…or at least her growing collection of squeaky toys and the occasional pesky squirrel.

Raisin doesn’t just play fetch—she redefines it with boundless energy and unmatched enthusiasm. When she’s not showing off her impressive retrieval skills or performing sound checks on all the toys in the house, you can usually find her snuggled up under a mountain of blankets, living her best burrito-dog life. She’s always willing to share her comfiest spots and accepts payment in the form of cuddles and belly rubs.

Because she’s currently in winter hibernation mode and generally a bit of a homebody at heart, she prefers movie nights to brewery hangs. But Raisin is extremely social and loves meeting new friends, both dog and human. She’s a gracious host, welcoming guests with a friendly lick or tail wag and quick to infuse any gathering with her infectious joy.

Committed to maintaining healthy habits, Raisin always gets a good night’s sleep in the sanctuary of her crate, walks well on leash for quiet strolls around the neighborhood, and with adequate outside breaks, doesn’t leave messes in the house. She’s not yet convinced that basic commands are a good use of her time—there are so many better things to do than “sit”—but we all have room for some personal growth, right?

Hello and happy new year! 🎉

We often hear people say some version of “rescue never stops” when talking about the work we do. The nonstop nature of what we do makes it really easy to forget to stop and celebrate all the amazing work we’re doing. Thankfully, the end of the year gives a natural opportunity to do just that!

Together, we rescued ✨422✨ dogs in 2024!

Ages:
- 110 newborns (under 6 weeks)
- 156 puppies (6 weeks - 6 months)
- 113 adults (6 months - 8 years)
- 43 seniors (8+ years)

Other stats:
- 8 larger medical cases
- 7 HW+ dogs
- 12 mama dogs (5 pregnant, 5 nursing, 2 with weaned pups)
- 26 puppies born in our care
- 27 parvo puppies
- More than 90 bully breed dogs
- Dogs pulled from 18 different shelter partners

We lost 6 young puppies from various litters over the course of the year due to health reasons, and they’re represented by the rainbow in our photo 🌈

But that’s not all! We had 407 dogs find their forever homes 🎉🎉🎉

A huge thank you to our incredible fosters, adopters, volunteers, donors, and supporters. Your love, time, and generosity have made a world of difference to so many dogs in need and made this year a success! 💜

With the softest tan fur, cutest wrinkly face, and prettiest green eyes, ✨FONT✨ is not only incredibly handsome – he’s also intuitive, endearing, and all around delightful.

Font is a friendly and social pup, he enjoys meeting new people and makes friends easily. He’s loves playing with toys and can keep himself entertained with a squeaky ball! Font is a snuggly guy and once he’s done playing he loves finding a lap to settle down in for a good snooze. He’s also smart and listens well, he loves treats and is eager to please so he’ll be fun to train. He enjoys learning new things and keeping his brain busy! Font is a wonderful companion and really wants to receive affection in any form – whether it’s through praise or a head scratch.

Font and his six siblings are part of our bookworm litter! In their foster home they have grown up with dogs of all sizes as well as cats. They’ve gone on lots of field trips including breweries, the Rex Cancer Center, and an assisted living facility and are used to riding in the car, meeting new people, and desensitized to new environments. This happy, silly guy is 📚BLURB📚, and to know him is to love him. Blurb is always down for playtime in any form – whether it’s chasing a toy, tug o war, or wrestling with his siblings. He loves everyone and everyone loves him! Blurb is a complete goofball. He embraces the motto “no thoughts, just vibes” - his clumsiness and antics will keep you giggling, but his sincere puppy eyes will tug at your heart strings.

As playful and enthusiastic as he is, he’s also so sweet and loves to snuggle and give kisses. He’s affectionate and enjoys soaking up compliments and sweet talking. He’s easy to entertain because he’s naturally just so happy! As long as he’s around his people and getting attention his tail will be wagging.
