This is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Since opening their doors they have gotten over 56,000 pets adopted and saved over 1 million from being euthanized.

Things To Keep Away from Your Dog on Valentine's Day
Dogs, we love them and they LOVE to get into everything they shouldn’t.
If you love your dog (and we know you do) make sure to keep these out of their reach around Valentine’s Day:
🍫 Chocolate - if your pup consumes more than 1.5 ounces of dark chocolate per 10 pounds of body weight it’s time to call your vet! This varies based on the type of chocolate, consult your vet if your pet does get into chocolate.
🧸 Stuffed Animals - Small parts like eyes can easily be ingested. The stuffing that these toys are filled with can cause blockages.
🎁 Wrapping Paper & Ribbons - foreign objects that cannot be digested can lead to bowel obstructions.
🍬 Candy - excess amounts of candy consumed can cause GI issues, causing upset tummies and a bigger cleaning problem for you to clean up.
If your pet gets into any of these items consult your vet right away 📞

Getting a puppy or dog is such an exciting time, but let’s not forget this is also a big commitment 🐶
Before heading down to your local adoption center take our quiz to determine which breed may be the most suitable for you 💙

🇦’s: It doesn’t seem like you are ready for this commitment. May we recommend a lower-maintenance pet like a fish, hamster, or hermit crab.
🇧’s: A toy breed. Toy breeds are generally on the smaller side, require less activity, and some dogs that are toys are hypoallergenic so they won’t shed. These are breeds like Maltese, Havanese, yorkie, pomeranian, poodle, dachshunds, and Chihuahuas.
🇨’s: Sporting or working breeds. These are your naturally more active and alert breeds that are going to not only be larger, but tend to have a lot more energy. These are breeds like huskies, German shepherds, labs, retrievers, boxers, and rottweilers.
🇩s: Terrier or hound breeds. These groups’ breeds are going to have the most variety in size and coat-wise. Some terriers and hounds are on the smaller size and others like ‘bully’ breeds are going to be larger. These breeds can be bloodhounds, greyhounds, bull terriers, and Scottish terriers.

Just because you see a dog’s tail wagging does not mean they are happy.
Keep this in mind when you are taking your dog to places like dog parks, hiking trails, a walk in a new neighborhood- if another dog is wagging their tail it may not always mean you should bring your dog over to play.
If a dog’s head is held high, ears are up, and their flag is raised while positioning themselves on their forelegs this usually means they’re aggressive even if their tail is wagging.
