This week we have had a very special guest at Big Bertha’s Hen Hotel. This is Jet she is blind and just an amazing little chicken, she settled really quickly into her peaceful run. Her other senses are really sharp and after only a couple of days was able to put herself to bed! Here she is tucking into a tasty fruit salad!
We have loved having Jet around - remember if you are looking for somewhere for your special chickens to stay we still have a couple of weeks free over the summer holidays.

Meet the flock!

Name: Amber
Breed: Warren
Age: 18 months

Amber was a commercial hen who got re-homed by neighbours but sadly was badly picked on by the other chickens. All the ladies at Big Bertha’s Hen Hotel are a very friendly so she came to live here! She has settled in really well and is now best friends with Bertha and Hetty! She falls asleep on my feet and sometimes sits on my shoulder like a parrot!

Meet the flock!

Name: Bertha (Hen hotel mascot)
Breed: Buff Cochin
Age: 4 years

Bertha is very friendly, extremely food orientated and loves raising chicks! 🐣 Her favourite thing to do is lie in the sun and have dust bathes. She loves eating corn and can't resist some dandelion leaves! 🌿 Also, Bertha is excellent at showjumping, and can even be taken for short walks around the garden on a lead!
