If anyone has any old, but clean, bedding (ie duvets, pillows, blankets etc) could they please consider donating for our rescued cats and dogs ? The weather is very cold at the moment, and with most of the Winter still to go, we are running short, as the animals sometimes enjoy playing tug o' war with them ! (All our resident cats and dogs have medical conditions requiring regular veterinary attention, so are not available for re-homing). I'm sure they will be very gratefully. We are in Carharrack TR16 5QY

If so, please e-mail [email protected] or DM. Thank you in advance.

Free Charity Willwriting - Update

Hello Everyone !

As many of you may be aware, we previously offered this via a firm of solicitors in Truro, who have now become unable to continue to offer this service. After a lot of research and careful thought, we have now partnered with an on-line provider, which many clients may in fact prefer, since they can use the service whenever it is most convenient to them. Please have look and see what you think:-

Hello Everyone,

Very much hoping you've had a good Easter. We would really appreciate it if you could please read through this post carefully and sign the petition !

We have been asked to copy and paste the message below. Please share with all your friends, family, colleagues etc.

“Hello there, I do hope you can help us make a difference here. My friend Peter Baker, a serving Northumbria police officer has started this campaign in response to the many cases he has dealt with involving animals. This would be a bid to keep adoptions and rehomings and animal sales safer and we are determined to get it to parliament.
We have had a fantastic start thanks to help from fellow animal lovers, their groups and associations, but we only have until August to run, and so we are asking for help to try and get it more visible online to as many supporters as possible. Would you be happy to share this very worthwhile petition on your page please? Feel free to copy and paste the whole message. We'd be so very grateful of the support."

Hello everyone,

We'd like to introduce Buttercup & Thumper. Buttercup is the beautiful young lady on the left in the series of photo's. She loves posing, and Thumper is happy to go along with that. They are well-bonded, and totally devoted to each other. They are looking for an extra-special home as house-rabbits, with plenty of freedom and human inter-action. They are very friendly and playful, but slightly nervous at first around new people - it doesn't take them long to get comfortable though.

As a pair, play is a very important part of their day, when there is much showing-off and binky-jumping !

By the way, both are neutered, micro-chipped and fully-vaccinated.
(Of course, new family will need to continue their vaccinations every year, to keep them safe from diseases.)

These two had recently found a home, but, through no-one's fault,
it fell through.

Please PM us for more info on this gorgeous couple. Thank you for reading. Charitable Donation applies.

Hello all!

Here’s a selection of various fortunate animals we’ve rescued over the last few years who are now permanent residents. As you can see, there’s quite a variety of species, all of whom have purpose-built, spacious accommodation. Most of these photos were taken in the fine weather, when they had the opportunity to pose for the camera. None of these were in perfect condition when rescued, but all of the photos show them in their improved state. Some of them have required extensive veterinary care and careful rehabilitation, whilst many are receiving on-going medication for life. The routine everyday, in addition to providing food, water and clean bedding, is to go through the list of medication to be given so as to insure no one is left out.

We hope you’ll agree that they all look very appreciative of their new lives with us.

If you feel you could possibly help us with funds towards their veterinary care, please follow these links, we’d much appreciate it.

Hello, My name's Lilac. I'm now a happy resident at the Holmewood Animal Rescue Charitable Trust, and these pics were taken of me back in September, enjoying a moment of being silly, in between some serious bird-watching. (I'm only allowed to WATCH the birds, but at least a cat can dream !) Please like and share if you think I'm lovely !

Hello Everyone,

My name's Sophie, and I'm one of the lucky dogs with a permanent home at the Holmewood Animal Rescue Charitable Trust, in Cornwall. I'm 12 years old now, and can't remember much about
before I came here, but it's a GREAT place to be ! I've got all sorts of dog-friends, plus I get on pretty well with some of the resident cats, but sometimes they are kind of strange and unnerving. The thing is, when they just stare at you, it's difficult to tell what they're thinking. Cats can be very deep, unlike us dogs who are really open books. We just like to play, chase around, sleep and eat, eat, eat and eat some more, if we can. But our human carers think they know it all and keep us on properly-balanced diets so we don't put on lots of weight, which is the whole point of eating, isn't it ?

Anyway, it's been very nice talking to you, but nearly feeding-time now according to my stomach-clock, so just time for a quick poo before tea ! By the way, if you think I'm pretty, could you please like my photo and share with your friends ? Thank you. #########x

Hi Everyone, Please share. This is something we feel really strongly about ! If we can grow our garden produce pesticide-free, and create a haven for bees and wild-life, so can everyone else ! Bees are already under threat from numerous sources

We can’t allow pesticides to destroy our environment and kill any more bees.

Hello, my name is Rocky (grey) and this is my adoptive mother, Tiny (black). We are permanent residents at Holmewood Animal Rescue.
Tiny and I have similar backgrounds, I like to think that’s why we bonded so well!

Tinys mother was rescued by Holmewood Animal Rescue back at the beginning of 2019. Tinys mother was pregnant when she was left outside of the rescue and a short while after having her here at the rescue, she gave birth to Tiny. She looked after Tiny for roughly 2 weeks, but sadly after that, Tinys mother wanted nothing more to do with her. Holmewood Animal Rescue did all they could to help Tiny, they put Tiny back in the nest when her mother dragged her out (to keep her from getting cold), but the mother wasn’t looking after her anymore. She wasn’t feeding her and she kept dragging her out of the nest. Tiny was going to starve if this carried on. Holmewood Animal Rescue then began handrearing Tiny, keeping her with one of the members at the rescue 24/7. Tiny was later on diagnosed with rapid teeth growth, and needs her teeth monitored on a regular basis. When Tiny was little, she needed her pellets ground down slightly (not to dust, just into smaller pieces) as she struggled to eat the pellets with the way her teeth were at the time. She now doesn’t struggle to eat at all as long as her teeth are monitored by Holmewood Animal Rescue.

I (Rocky) was rescued by Holmewood Animal Rescue when I was about a week old. They had a phone call within the second quarter of 2020 from someone who had previously bought two rabbits (supposedly the same s*x) and later realised they were opposite s*xes when they found me in the nest. Both of my parents died not long after I was born, and so, I was brought to Holmewood Animal Rescue where they handreared me. I was adopted by my wonderful bunny-mummy, Tiny, not long after being rescued. She took care of me, kept me warm, cleaned me, taught me how to be a good bunny... I don’t know where I’d be without Tiny, I’m always by her side, following her around, I’d be lost without her.

Its a bit embarrassing to talk about, but when I was old enough I had to have a certain operation (neutering) so I could stay with Tiny forever. If I didn’t have the operation, we would’ve had to be separated and I didn’t want that, having the operation was a small price to pay for a life of happiness with Tiny.
(Tiny was spayed long before I was rescued)

You may have noticed that my legs are unlike Tinys legs, I’ve been told this could’ve been a birth defect. It doesn’t bother me, I get around just like any other bunny would. The only difference is that I need super soft bedding under me at all times, to keep my knees from getting sore. I may get spinal issues in the future due to the way my legs are, but Tiny and I will deal with it together.

The video below/attached is of Tiny and I (Rocky) being silly after we had a general check-up at the vets, we were so glad to be out of the vets, we couldn't help but do loads of binky jumps! (sorry about the mess in the background of the video, the humans who own the house we were in aren't the tidiest of humans)

(PS. All bunnies at the rescue are fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Neither Tiny or Rocky brought any diseases to our rescue when they were rescued.)

Please like and share if you think we're adorable!

Hello Everyone,
"My name is Mr. Gingerbread. You may have seen me last year, when I was first rescued by Holmewood Animal Rescue. At that time, I can only say I was very unwell and didn't look my best. As
you may already know, I was diagnosed with an inactive tumor in my left eye as well as infections in both eyes, at the beginning of last year. Since then, I have had regular vet attention to remedy my problems and my issues have greatly improved. I am now on long-term medication for my left eye due to the complications that
have inevitably arisen, due simply to neglect at my previous home.
However, I now feel much more positive about my future as a permanent resident here, following so much expert care, and having made so many new friends. I am currently enjoying my bachelor life in my bunny-bungalow, but I aspire for a lovely bunny wife in the near future
As I've just stated, my on-going treatment is very expensive, so it would be lovely if some kind people could spare me their small-change via either of these links, please:-

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/holmewoodanimalrescue-1

https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/donation/holmewoodanimalrescuecharitabletrust

Or, you could sponsor me direct, by contacting Holmewood Animal Rescue by e-mail on [email protected] for more details, (£1 per month suggested) and I'll send you my best photo and a sponsorship certificate through the post.
Thank you so much in advance !"
Please note, Holmewood Animal Rescue operates a strict non-breeding policy, with all animals being neutered.
PLEASE "LIKE" AND SHARE AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU.
