Look at this! This was the first time we got him out of his crate since surgery. He’s got this!!! He will still need the crate at times but he’s back with his buddies, too. He’s still on pain meds and antibiotics but he does need to learn his balance. We love this so much!!!!! Doodle on, Colby!! You’ve got this!!!

Ok!!! Many of you like to follow the journeys of the animals we rehab at the farm. Colby came to us paralyzed from a broken back. Probably hit by a car. He would NOT use a wheelchair so he drug himself around. I’m not a big fan of drag bags because if they p**p in it, it’s a mess for them AND you. He was dragging sores on the tops off his feet that we couldn’t heal up as he would take the bandages off, even with pepper juice on them 🤪 Many times, the floor would have a lot of blood on it from him moving around. He was headed for an infection in the bone and we may not have been able to do anything for him at that point but let him go. So, I have seen videos of dogs with the exact situation and they walked on their front legs so we had both back legs amputated last Friday and look at him!! The clinic said he was trying to balance on his front feet as soon as he woke up from surgery!! He weighs about 12 lbs so balancing will be a breeze for him. He’s going to do it!! I will keep posting videos of his progress so y’all can also cheer him on. This was just taken this morning while he ate. Animals are so resilient…

Madi and I took Annie and Oakley out visiting today! First stop was to the Lofland’s where Tama had won the auction for a delivery with the calves. Tama got 2 dozen farm fresh eggs as her delayed Valentine’s gift. I told her that was worth $200! 🤣🤣 Then we made 3 more stops and the girls did fantastic! Getting them ready for Junkin in the Hood at Warren’s Backyard on April 5th. We hope to see a bunch of y’all there and you can get a photo made with Annie and Oakley for a fund raiser OR our special guest that will be revealed that day 😁
