Milko would have been 20 years old today. His flag bandana was his birthday bandana, since it was also Flag Day. He loved his sisters and was great with our fosters. Such a calm, mellow boy! But he would get so excited, wagging his little stubby tail, when treats were involved 😊 or when we came home. I'm amazed and grateful that he lived to 15, even with all his heart issues. We love our girls, but he was special. He was the best pup ever! I hope you're enjoying lots of treats and kicking your feet up in the grass at the Rainbow Bridge, Milko! Happy Birthday! We'll be together again someday. ❤️

I gave Momma and Daddy quite a scare last night. I have had a heart murmur for many years, which progressed to grade 5. I was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and mitral valve regurgitation, and other heart issues that Momma can't pronounce. But, even at 15 years old, I've been doing pretty well thanks to my meds, but I still cough from time to time due to the fluid. Last night, I kept coughing for over an hour. Momma took me to my vet. My oxygen level was only 90% so they put me on oxygen. It did improve to 100% while I was on the oxygen. Although I could have stayed overnight at my vet, they suggested I go to the animal hospital because they have a cardiologist on staff in case I needed one. So Momma brought me to the hospital to spend the night. I was on oxygen all night, and I had a chest x-ray and echocardiogram. There was no new diagnosis but they added another med to help my heart more. My oxygen levels were high enough that the hospital said I could come home tonight. I was excited to be home which caused more coughing, but now I'm relaxing. Momma and Daddy are going to keep a close watch on me and I'll go back to see my regular vet in a couple weeks. I don't know how long I'll be around, but I wasn't ready to go just yet. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers that the meds will help me feel better. Time for all of us to go and get a good night sleep now. ❤

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time! Momma volunteers with two animal rescues, so she hogs the computer and phone a lot. BOL
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still doing great! Yesterday was my 15th Birthday! 🎂 I got a new bandana for my Flag Day birthday. 😊 As momma said, I have a lot more gray than when I came to live with her and Daddy 9 years ago, I have heart problems, and early stages of dementia, but I still run to the door when they come home and bounce around when she pulls out what she calls my pill case. (All I know is that means treats.) 😋 I plan on sticking around with Momma and Daddy and my fursisters for a long time. ❤

My friend, Harley, who helped save hundreds of dogs like him from puppy mills, crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. Run free Harley!

My name is Mary, and I am a friend of Harley’s mom and dad. They have asked me to let you know that their beloved Harley took his last breath today. He went on his own terms … he chose his moment, he did not suffer, and he was not in pain. He passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his mom and dad.

Harley's parents, Rudi and Dan, want you to know how very much your love, prayers and support have meant to them today and throughout Harley’s journey. They will have much more to say in the coming days when they are ready. For the moment, they ask for your understanding as they walk through this incredibly difficult time.

We all feel as though Harley belonged to each of us in some way. Now, we all share a common grief that we must each somehow come to terms with. Just know that Harley’s mission will continue, his voice will still be heard, and his light will shine brighter than ever.

This is not the end. As today is the first day of spring – a day of new beginnings – let this be a new beginning in the fight against puppy mills, and let Harley’s voice be heard through each and every one of us.

Harley, run free. You were loved immeasurably, and our lives and the lives of so many puppy mill dogs are better because you were a part of us. You will be missed more than you’ll ever know.

The dog rescue that Momma volunteers with is having a calendar contest with some of their doggies that have been adopted. My Auntie Barbara's dog, Ruby, is in the contest. She is #95 (near the end of the album). We would love it if you could vote for her. But, all the doggies in the contest are special, and a lot of them don't know a lot of people on Facebark, so they don't have many votes. Star was rescued at 5 weeks old in 2007. The only pup to survive the Somerset puppy farm run by a Sally. Star was the evidence in closing that farm down. Star died 21st February 2019.

It habs been a week since my bootiful wife Maggie of Sadie and Angel Maggie had to cross da Wainbow Bwidge. I lubs and misses her so much. We didn't habs enuf time together. But I noes she will still be here wif me. Please stop and gibs some lubs to Sadie and da rest of dere family.

Our Maggie Mae went to the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday morning. We had 14 wonderful years together. I’m sure I drove her crazy as much as she did me occasionally. Love her so much and I miss her. I know someday my heart will quit hurting. I love you Missy Mags.

Gertie needs prayers! She is bleeding from one side of her nose so her mom and dad rushed her to the vet man. They are very worried, especially because she has a cleft palette and lip.

UPDATE: Gertie is at the vet with bleeding from one side of her.nose. It got much worse once we got there and then stopped. However, it started up again so she is about to go under anesthesia so they can figure it out. Mom and dad are very worried about their little girl...please continue to have Gertie in your thoughts/prayers. Thank you.
