Sa kasalukuyan, ang kabute ay ginagamit na rin bilang sangkap sa pagkain tulad ng noodles, burger, cookies at marami pang iba.
Sa aspetong pangkabuhayan, malaki ang naitutulong ng mushroom technology mula sa CLSU kung saan may Mushroom Center.
