Finished my in-person RECOVER CPR certification (Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation) today and "defibrillated" my first "patient". I've never worked in a hospital that had a defibrillator. It isn't standard in most veterinary hospitals, as it is less common for veterinary patients to have a "shockable" heart rhythm, meaning that use of the defibrillator won't help. As much as we hope not to need it, I'm excited that we will be getting a defibrillator!
