We are so happy that Athena is home after 7 days. From Athena's owner: "I credit getting the information out there on place we could think to post on. We posted multiple times in some places. And then walking around the neighborhood and talking to people. Lots of people were keeping their eyes out for her and took our phone number, calling us whenever she was spotted. Eventually she was spotted in someone's backyard on their ring camera and we asked them to contain her until we could get there."

If you have a pacemaker, you can put it in your Will to have your pacemaker donated to a dog in need after you pass. Pacemakers cannot be donated to another human, but they can be donated to dogs with cardiac issues who would depend on it to stay alive.
You can have the pacemaker brought to a vet of your choice. So many of those get thrown away and dogs die because people don't know they can do this. It even saves the dog's owner the cost of the actual pacemaker which sometimes means the difference in being able to afford lifesaving treatment or not.
***Edit:
There are limitations for donating a pacemaker such as age of the device and state of the battery. Although requirements may vary per location, you can contact your local Veterinary Cardiologist for more information.

We are so happy that Zipper is home after 2 days. From Zipper's family: "I called the non-emergency police line and was told a dog was picked up within the timeframe she was lost. I posted on multiple sites and a friend of a volunteer at the human society was able to reach out and let us know it was her who was picked up and she was safe at the shelter."

We are so very happy that Tripp is home after 1 day. Here is Tripp's full story: "We adopted Tripp; a four year old retired stud from Blue Springs Aussies. It was a 13 hour drive back to Arapahoe county in Colorado . We were in snow and slick roads for hours. He had a Martingale no-slip collar on the entire trip. It was buckled to a seat belt dog restraint. He was walked at intervals with leash and did pretty good considering. We arrived in Co. He slept 5 hours or so in a crate in our room. I heard scratching in the crate at 4:15am.
I got up and proceeded to take him out front of our house in the same collar and leash. There was a fox or coyote several houses down. Did not potty. The animal began approaching us and he turned and pulled right out of collar and bolted up the street and out of sight! There is an open space at end of the street and he was nowhere in site! I called to no avail. Ran back and got my husband . We both went up the street. No sign of him. ASAP, I posted his picture and details on the Next Door platform. I immediately got responses from kind hearted people who actually came to our subdivision with treats to search. Amy; a person who specializes in this answered and joined in with advice on updating the post. We all drove around , searched. My husband went and parked and walked miles probably thinking he might appear. At one point he came back and we were both exhausted and crying! We came home and started trying to notify agencies. We suddenly got a ND notification with a picture of a sighting in a nearby subdivision across a busy street. We went there and Amy was also in the area. A call came in of another sighting in area. Eventually, a call came that he was seen running down a busy street toward a highway. Another call that he was in another subdivision and a guy had eyes on him in a culdesac. We went there and saw him ourselves! He acted like he was going to come to us but ran past! He was chased by another dog that wanted to play. He went back to the busier street along a fence line for houses and actually laid down in exhaustion. Amy, the specialist arrived with my husband who was on foot. I came out of the subdivision and saw them all parked and just knew he had been hit by a car. Amy began her magic. He was so hungry, he would come and eat from our fingers turkey and treats. He would back away so fast , no way to reach him. She made one attempt to lasso him with her hoop device. She then made the decision to get her husband to bring a cage trap. He arrived and she carefully set it up with all kinds of food. She was even close to him but in her special way, moved away and he started approaching it. He really wanted the food and scratched at back. He went to the door one and put two feet in. In a few more minutes, he circled and went in and at 2:34pm the trap door closed and we had our Tripp back! Amy and my husband loaded him into her vehicle and we took him home. That was less than 2 miles and got some special advice."

The Dumb Friends League is hosting its annual Furry Scurry dog walk on Saturday, May 7, in Denver’s Washington Park to raise money for homeless pets in our community. Animal lovers and their dogs will enjoy a beautiful spring day while participating in the two-mile walk around Wash Park, followed by refreshments, food trucks, contests, dog demonstrations and more than 150 pet-related vendors and sponsors at the Flealess Market.
