Meeko was introduced to the place cot! She had no problem getting on the place cot but teaching her the rules of place was a bit more challenging. Whenever I moved she wanted to come with me but patience was key. We started off small and slowly built into more difficult holds. By the end of the session she make the cot her safe space.

Meeko was introduced to the prong collar! At first she struggled with following the leash pressure but we remained consistent with our approach and we worked through it. She responded well to us showing affection as a reward to her providing a sit when directed too. She also really enjoyed us using play as a reward. We will continue to use these strategies to aid her success in future session!

Luna learned the recall command! She quickly understood the release of the command but struggled with holding the down command when given. She thrived in the high energy of this session but it took sometime to get her to control herself. With rep after rep she began to understand the boundaries of the command and found her confidence. We can’t wait to take her to a public outting!

Welcome Meeko to the 2nd Chance K9 pack! This girl is full of energy and just wants to play however, there is a time and place. This energy can quickly turn into something destructive but we look forward to giving her and her owners the tools to give her a fruitful life. A boost in confidence and early exposure to training will give her the ability to thrive within her new family!

Luna was introduced to the ecollar! She did great in this session. She smashed all of the commands and didn’t have nearly as much trouble holding command as she did during the down session. She is responding well to the additional guidance from the ecollar. We can’t wait for the recall session.

Luna learned the down command! At first she didn’t respond well to the downward leash pressure but we kept it light and consistent. She is a smart gal and quickly learned if she goes elbows and hips down we release pressure. The harder portion was getting her to hold the command but swift corrections and clear boundaries helped her over come this hurdle. We first taught her the verbal and leash pressure then once she had that down we introduced treats to keep her spirits up and build confidence!

Luna was introduced to the place cot! At first she was deathly afraid of place but, with a patient approach we learned to enjoy it. She did a great job at understanding the boundaries of the place cot and found her space. The benefit of the place cot is giving the dog an indefinite area that is theirs.
