Did you know? The stallion Khemosabi was one of the most beloved Arabian horses - ever! He was born on May 14, 1967. He was bred by Dr. Bert and Mrs. Ruth Husband of Whittier, California, His sire was Amerigo and his dam was Jurneeka, by Fadjur. In his lifetime, Khemosabi earned several National Championship titles including 1969 Canadian National Champion Stallion - he was just two-years-old! In 1971, he was named Canadian National Champion in Pleasure Driving. In 1972, he was named U.S. National Reserve Champion Stallion and finally, in 1973, he was named U.S. National Champion Stallion. Later, in 1976, he was named U.S. National Champion in Western Pleasure, as well as Canadian National Champion Stallion AND Canadian National Champion Western Pleasure. Throughout his lifetime, Khemosabi sired 1265 offspring and they produced 8785 grandchildren for the legendary stallion. Khemosabi is best known for establishing a classic Arabian look in his foals, many of which bore a remarkable resemblance with his rich dark bay color, four white socks, and very kind personality.
