The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian under the active leadership of Gov. Abdulraof Macacua, conducted a simultaneous 3-day (December 12-14,2023) anti-rabies Vaccination in the Municipalties of PARANG (Brgy. Sarmiento) and SULTAN KUDARAT (Brgy. Bulalo and Limbo), Maguindanao del Norte.

The said activity was in line with the seven (7) Point Executive Agenda (P.R.E.M.I.E.R.) of the Provincial Government and its mission of promoting general welfare, health and safety, and a rabies free community in the Province of Maguindanao del Norte.

Throughout the activity, the Office vaccinated a total of 703 pets (CATS=220 and DOGS=483).

MASS ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION at Brgy. Tamontaka, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte

A total of 39 (Cats) and 128 (dogs) were administered with anti-rabies vaccine. The office were grateful for the active participation of the pet owners especially for the assistance of the Barangay officials during the conduct of the activity.

A total of 92 (cats) and 228 (dogs) were administered with anti-rabies vaccine. The office were grateful to the active participation of the pet owners especially for the assistance of Barangay officials for the success conduct of the activity.

Poster Making Contest will be held on the 5th of October 2023 (Thursday), 8:00am at the MDN Provincial Satellite Office Conference Hall. Meanwhile, winners on all competitions shall be announced on the same day.

LOOK| OPVET in Action.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian - Maguindanao del Norte under the dynamic leadership of Governor Abdulraof A. Macacua, conducted series of Veterinary Services activity such as Vitamin supplementation, deworming, treatment and consultations last August 2-4, 2023 in the following Municipalities:

1.SULTAN KUDARAT
- Brgy. Mulaog
- Brgy. Banobo
- Brgy. Darapanan

2. PARANG
- Brgy. Sarmiento
- Brgy. Nituan
- Brgy. Bonggo

3. UPI
- Brgy. Mileb

Prior to start of activity, a courtesy visit were conducted to Barangay officials and MAFAR Municipal Officers (MMOs). During the meeting, livestock technicians of OPVET presented the different programs and activities offered by the Provincial Government, through this Office, and its importance especially for the livestock farmers.

Two of the OPVET-MDN Personnel, Dr. Marilou V. Samar and Omar Salam A. Ayao successfully completed a 4-Day Training Course on Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) conducted by Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) at Alnor Hotels held last August 29 to September 1, 2023.

The training aims to equip the participants with knowledge on: a) identifying processes and principles used in RDANA; b) coordinating mechanisms between the actors involved in the assessment; c) determining the procedures involved before, during and after RDANA mission; d) providing skills needed to assess information on disaster-stricken sites; and e) applying appropriate assessment methods in a simulated disaster impacted site.

AUGUST 4, 2023

OPVET Regulatory and Control Chief, Dr. Marilou V. Samar together with MAFAR Quarantine and Regulatory Division conducted Blood collection on Broiler for disease monitoring in a poultry farm (Jaggy's Farm) at Brgy Ladia, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte. The activity was conducted as a necessary compliance for the renewal of the license to operate of the said farm.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Yusoff Adrian C. Abas,MPA (3rd from left) attended the Orientation and Strategic Planning Workshop on Rabies Prevention and Control Program conducted by the Ministry of Health (MOH) - BARMM last July 25-27, 2023 at Acacia Hotel, Davao City. In attendance were medical doctors and nurses from different provinces of BARMM.

ANIMAL HEALTH PROGRAM

The OPVET continuously implement its mandate in providing quality veterinary services thru its Animal Health Program. Animal health services such as deworming, vitamin supplementation, treatment and consultation among livestock and poultry were conducted to different Municipalities for animal disease prevention. Said activity aims to provide a healthy animal population and increased animal production, all throughout the Province, in order to support the local government of its goal of having a sustainable food source.

JULY 27, 2023| OPVET joins the simultaneous Tree Growimf Activity of the province.

In line with the National Disaster Resilience Month 2023 (July 27, 2023), the OPVET participated in the simultaneous Tree Growing Activity conducted in the different municipalities of the Province. Together with the employees and staff of the Provincial Government, different line agencies also lend a hand in making the activity greener than ever. Omar L. Aguil, Livestock Inspector and Omar Salam A. Ayao, Admin. Aide IV, represented the office during the activity held in the Municipality of Sultan Mastura.

JUNE 10,2023| Writeshop on Action Plan and Project Brief

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET) attended a 2-day Writeshop on Action Plans and Project Brief last June 10-11,2023 at the Alnor Function Hall, Cotabato City. In attendance were Local Special Bodies from the Province and other line agencies of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The workshop cored upon the formulation of crafting and establishing a framework to efficiently complete a project/program. In line with the Provincial Development Plan (PDP), the OPVET prepared a Project Brief on Halal Livestock and Poultry Dispersal Program

May 22, 2023 | Presentation of 7 Point Agenda (P.R.E.M.I.E.R.)

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Yusoff Adrian C. Abas, along with Office Division Chiefs -- Dr. Marilou V. Samar (Veterinarin III) and Norhassan D. Gani (Admin. Officer IV) -- attended a meeting conducted by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO). OIC-PPDC Engr. Fatima Bansuan,EnP presented the Vision and Mission of the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Norte (MDN) and Provincial Governor Abdulraof A. Macacua’s Seven (7) Point Agenda. Of which, every department was tasked to provide a Work and Financial Plan (WFP) on their respective Program, Projects and Activities (PPAs) in line with the Provincial Government’s Annual Investment Plan (AIP). Dr. Abas immediately conducted a meeting with the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET) personnel to discuss the different activities of the office in preparation for the WFP.
