We have received the sad news that Bailey has passed from an aggressive form of cancer. Rescued from a neighbor that kept her in a 6 x 6 outdoor kennel, She was adopted in 2018. Bailey had a wonderful life with her family in Virginia.
"It breaks my heart to write this, but we lost our precious angel, Bailey, yesterday. 💔In just 1 week, she went from being her playful, spunky self to becoming weak/lethargic, not wanting to eat or being able to hold down food, and struggling to breathe. It turns out that she was already in the advanced stages of an aggressive cancer that spread to her liver and spleen (hemangiosarcoma). There is no cure, and even with treatment, dogs with this type of cancer usually live at most for a couple of months. With the prognosis being so poor and knowing how uncomfortable she must have been, we decided to let her go now to minimize her suffering. Our pain and shock are indescribable, but there’s one thing we know for sure: Bailey could have lived for another thirty years, and we still never would have been ready to say goodbye. I loved her with my whole being in a way I didn’t think was possible. Just seven years doesn’t feel fair, but I know we made the most of every day together. They say that everyone has a “soul pup,” and she is definitely mine. Bailey, I hope you have the best time with your stuffies and chasing all the squirrels and bunnies on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge🌈🩷🐾. I will never stop loving you girl. Marianne, thank you for bringing this angel into our lives. We are forever grateful."
