This handsome big man Tex, has just completed a 2 week Board & Train.
Tex is a gentle giant but he struggled to manage his arousal in new environments, lacked confidence around new people and was very reactive towards dogs. He is just about to move overseas with his parents and they wanted to make sure he was set up for success for his journey.
Over the 2 weeks we worked on crate training, general manners and obedience, physical handling, muzzle conditioning and confidence in new environments especially around people and dogs.
We did many different exposure sessions where we tried to replicate some of the experiences Tex will have during his travels. Trips to the vet for general check ups and physical exams, out to the airport for some habituation to the noises and smells and lots of visits to the local parks for walks and training sessions.
We couldn’t be happier with the progress Tex has made and we are super proud!

Fantastic day of training the team!
We took an in depth look at social pack management, physical handling of dogs, training in the daycare environment, desired and undesired behaviours and how they are managed, how to best support nervous/timid dogs and managing arousal levels.
It was a massive day and we only just scratched the surface but as always we thoroughly enjoyed sharing our knowledge and passion with the team of enthusiastic dog handlers.
