Let's talk about dog attacks...

You may have noticed our trainers always carry a slip lead around their necks on all training walks, even though we don't use slip leads on our own dogs that often join us on a pack walk.
Slip leads are the perfect tool to use in a dog fight OR medical emergency to use as a makeshift muzzle.

When an attack happens it’s pointless trying to shout, throw water, grab legs, or pull dogs apart. All of these actions can make the situation to escalate and cause more damage.

A slip lead around a dog that is in full attack mode, locked on in a bite is your best option. Use the lead as a chocking mechanism, when the attacker let's go you then have control of it to prevent further damage or the dog latching on again.

The team, on occasion have used this method to regain control of off lead dogs that seem to have no owners when out on our pack walks, we will use them to keep our group safe.

You can also use a standard lead to create a slip lead in an emergency situation.

Accidents happen and dogs (and some humans) can be unpredictable!

Be prepared - know basic canine first aid - stay safe!

July and August books up quickly here at Poplar Paws

We are not typical kennels, the dogs in our care spend hours exploring fields and playing in pens rather than being cooped up.
Our sleeping areas are big and we have a choice of sofas, crates, fluffy beds and even a caravan depending on your dog’s preference.

Boarding is £30 per night (4pm-11am), if you would like an early drop off or evening pick up we charge a daycare fee of £20
We provide bedding, bowls and toys - you just need to bring your dog and their usual food.

No shows and last minute cancellations are chargeable.
Please give as much notice as possible if you won’t be bringing your dog to allow the space to be allocated to another dog and for us to organise our staff to dog ratio

Payments

Daycare is £20 per day Monday to Friday
£25 at the weekend

Boarding is £30 per night (4pm-11am)
Early drop & late pick up are available at an additional fee of £20

All payments are in advance or cash at the point of dropping off.

For all drop off and pick up, please call 07367 623 222 on arrival at the green gate. We will get to you as quickly as possible.
Please be prepared to wait a few minutes while we move dogs around to allow safe arrivals & departures. Do not open or close the green gates.

Please can you let us know as soon as possible if your dog isn’t attending their usual daycare session.
We can then offer the spaces to our waiting list and organise how many staff are required.

This week daycare is closed on Tuesday and Thursday but is open as normal from next week.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday daycare is open as normal.
