My wonderful staff is working with Rusty to help gain his trust and get him to relax meeting new people. He is an adorable 2-year-old Shih Tzu who we hope one day to find the perfect home for.

We are thrilled to report that our handsome boy, Ollie, has been adopted! Originally, he came to us along with six other dogs from the country of Bahrain where dogs are treated worse than dirt. He was adopted out for a couple of years and then returned due to owner losing her job. He has been staying with us again since last winter. Like all of us, one of our wonderful employees, Iris Fletcher, fell in love with him. After going on some field trips and an overnight stay with her and her family they all decided he was the one! He is thriving in his new home and we couldn't be happier for him. We know he is in good, loving hands and will be cared for the way he deserves.

We are so excited to announce that our sweet, playful, comical girl, Baby Cakes was finally adopted by Charles MacDonald and Jessica Hodsdon. We know she is in wonderful, loving hands as Charles adopted a dog from us 11 years ago and took excellent care of her. They are both avid runners and will be able to give our athletic girl the exercise she needs and loves. Their handsome dog Ace took to Babycakes right away and we knew it was a match! Baby is a little nervous at first when meeting new people so we know a confident dog like Ace will be a great role model for her. We have already heard back that Baby Cakes is doing well with their cats and is settling right in. It took a long time but once again, it was worth the wait to find the right family for our girl. :)

Our sweet, girl, Tallie is finally through with her heartworm treatment and is heartworm free! She came to us about a year ago in horrible condition. She had been over used for breeding, her skin was red and raw, her toenails were growing into her pads and she was heartworm positive. She has been so appreciative of her good care and the love we have been happy to give her. Please help us find her a loving home as it would be a real shame after all she has been through to not have the opportunity to know what it's like to be a beloved member of a wonderful family. She does have an issue with her eyes which require eye drops daily. Aside from that she has been happy and healthy while with us and is ready to begin her next chapter. Please contact us at 540-788-3559 or [email protected] for more information. Thank you!

Some of our adorable, lazy hounds enjoying a little sunbathing! These dogs are all incredibly affectionate, sweet, dog friendly and love every person they meet. They have been waiting a long time for a home to call their own. Contact The Chance Foundation at 540-788-3559 or email [email protected] for more information. Thank you!

Here are a handful of our beautiful Chance Foundation dogs who are still waiting for a home to call their own. They are all beautiful hounds who we took in last winter. They're extremely affectionate as you can see in this video. They are great with other dogs and people alike. Having lived outside in their former lives as hunting dogs they have quickly learned to appreciate the finer things in life like a roof over their heads, air conditioning in the summer, heat in the winter, good food and a soft, dry bed. There is nothing they would love more than to snuggle up with you on the couch and be your best friend! Please contact us at 540-788-3559 or email [email protected].

Update:

I have turned off commenting on this post. The Asher House gave a very sincere apology which I very much appreciated. I appreciate all of the people that stood up for us as I am sure Lee does for the Asher House. This matter has been resolved and now we can both get back to helping the dogs.

A big thank you to Lee of The Asher House for clearing up an unfortunate matter where my rescue...The Chance Foundation...was mistakenly blamed for saying some nasty things about them. The comments were made by a group in California but several keyboard warriors quickly attacked me and The Chance Foundation. I know Lee is an incredibly busy man and I appreciate him taking the time to clear this up. I have nothing but respect for all the good work that he does.

Apparently someone named Amanda with some group in California called Chance Foundation made a nasty comment on the page of The Asher House. I want to make it known that we had absolutely nothing to do with this. It is another group with our name. We have been being bashed by people who think it was us. We have nothing but the utmost respect for The Asher House and all the good work they do to save dogs. This is an unfortunate case of mistaken identity. Hopefully, the bashing will stop.

~COURTESY POST~

Meet Sadie!
Sadie is a loving and loyal 7-year-old, fifty pound Sheepadoodle looking for a new home where she can be the center of attention. She’s a snuggle bug who adores her person and enjoys nothing more than cozying up in her bed after a fun game of fetch.

Sadie needs an adult-only home and is best suited for a life without children. She would benefit from being the only dog in the household. She’s working on her leash reactivity and is currently on medication for anxiety, which helps her feel more comfortable and secure. With a bit of patience and training, Sadie will thrive as a devoted companion. If you're an experienced dog owner ready to give Sadie the love and structure she needs, she will reward you with endless loyalty and affection.

If you think Sadie might be your new best friend, please contact Emily at [email protected].

Beautiful Matilda began her life at our local SPCA. Soon after ... we took her and her brother into The Chance Foundation. Frankie has been adopted and is thriving in his new home. Sweet Matilda has been waiting very patiently to be "chosen". We believe she is a Pittie possibly mixed with Labrador. She is just under a year old, spayed and current on her vaccinations. She loves every person, dog and toy she meets! She knows her basic commands, is crate trained, eager to learn, loves to play fetch and even swims! She would love to have a brother or sister to play with but could also go to a home as a single dog as long as she has someone who will give her the exercise a young dog requires. We are hopeful that someone special will come along soon for our Matilda so that she can finally have a home to call her own. Please contact The Chance Foundation at 540-788-3559 or [email protected] for more information. You can also help us by sharing this post as the more people who see it the better Matilda's chances that we find a perfect match.

We had a great time with some of our wonderful Chance Foundation dogs at Trouvaille Brewery's Pups and Pints event in Haymarket yesterday. Our dogs were rockstars and enjoyed all the attention. A big thank you to Ricky (owner at Trouvaille) for hosting and his beautiful daughter for helping us hold dogs and of course, our wonderful volunteers who made it possible for us to attend....Kathy, Mack, Monica, Andy, Coco, Gigi and Valerie!

Good things are worth the wait! Big Moose has been with us since last winter patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own. Robert Parent, Chloe Hare and their two boys Robert and Forest fell for our magnificent Moose the minute they laid eyes on him. We are so thrilled that Moose will finally be part of a loving family and be inundated with love. We know that he will work very hard to help heal his new family's broken hearts after they experienced a recent loss. There is nothing like the love of a dog! We will all miss Moose as we grew quite fond of him! His new family has already given us a wonderful update letting us know that he is doing great and they absolutely adore him! Way to go Moose!

Calling all dog lovers! We could really use your help as our Chance Foundation funds are low, adoptions have been very slow, vet bills have been enormous and we want to be able to continue rescuing dogs in need.

When we take a dog in to The Chance Foundation we have them fully vetted which includes (spay/neuter, rabies, distemper, bordatella, heart worm test, microchip, flea and tick prevention as well as heart worm prevention). We provide each dog with housing, a healthy diet, training, socialization and of course, a lot of love and attention. We also take care of a lot of dogs who are in need of surgeries. Some of the medical procedures we pay for have included broken bones, tumor removal, heart surgeries, eye, skin and ear issues and recently even a rattle snake bite! If you own dogs you know these procedures are expensive.

We have taken in numerous dogs who have come from very unfortunate situations where they have been neglected and sometimes abused. Many of them have come to us emaciated, horrifically matted and often times completely unsocialized.

We know you love dogs and are hoping that you might consider donating to our cause so that we can help our homeless dogs have a chance at finding a home as wonderful as yours. No amount is too small. We are a registered non profit so your donations are tax deductible. Every penny goes towards the dogs and their care. If you are not in a position to donate you can still help us by sharing our posts, volunteering, fostering and even putting together a fundraiser on our behalf.

Pictured below are some of our beautiful Chance Foundation dogs all of whom have been waiting a very long time for a home to call their own.

We have a donate button on our website at www.countryclubkennels.com. Checks can be mailed to The Chance Foundation 10739 Bristersburg Rd. Catlett, VA 20119.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!

Our little Chihuahua boy is now where he belongs ... with my sister-in-law's twin sister, Lori Frick! We knew she was searching for a special Chihuahua to help heal her broken heart after losing her last little angel and had a feeling we found her the perfect match! We know Jax is in the best of hands with a mom who will cherish, spoil and adore him. He also can have playdates and sleepovers with Trixie (another former Chance Foundation dog) and little Lucy. Enjoy your new life little man Jax! 💖

CHANCE DOG OF THE DAY....
PRESENTING JUDY!!!!
Judy is a gorgeous hound, about 4 years old and looking for a place to call her own! Prior to her arrival to us she was living outside as a hunting dog with poor conditions. That being said, she is a super star in the car, she loves all other dogs, and every person she meets! She is very affectionate and loves to be pet! She really enjoys taking naps on comfy beds or couches as well. She would be a lovely addition to any home. If you could find some room in your heart and home for this precious hound please contact us at 540-788-3559 or [email protected], or fill out the adoption application found at www.countryclubkennels.com. If you are not in a position to adopt her, please share this post to spread the word and help us find a furever home for Juju! Please consider donating as it is our goal to get all of the dogs fully vetted, properly cared for, and adopted! Donate via our website(www.countryclubkennels.com) and PayPal. Thank you all so very much!!

CHANCE DOG OF THE DAY....
PRESENTING....
TALLIE!!!!!
Tallie is about 8 years old or so and is a beautiful pitbull mix. We took her in from a rural shelter where she was found as a stray in extremely poor condition. She was emaciated and in desperate need of TLC. She came to us heartworm positive and has been great throughout the treatment. She will need restricted activity until she can be retested on 6/25/2024. After that she will not have any activity restrictions. She is what we consider a special needs dog, as she has an eye condition called Pannus. It does not slow her down whatsoever, but she will require eye drops for the rest of her life. She is an absolute pro about getting her medication. She absolutely loves to play with toys and loves every person she meets. She does well with some dogs, but would depend on the other dog as she is quite pushy. She would love to be the center of attention in a home and would make an amazing companion. If you could find some room in your heart and home for this sweet senior please contact us at 540-788-3559 or [email protected], or fill out the adoption application found at www.countryclubkennels.com. If you are not in a position to adopt her, please share this post to spread the word and help us find a furever home for Tallie! Please consider donating as it is our goal to get all of the dogs fully vetted, properly cared for, and adopted! Donate via our website(www.countryclubkennels.com) and PayPal. Thank you all so very much!!
