❗Extinct in the wild! The Return - Updates 🌎
🚨 We have a save-the-date moment! After the success of the first trial release on the 11th of June, we were always planning the next one to complement the first. Around the 10th of December (exact date to be confirmed), 12 more Spix’s macaws will be released into the wild; this supplementing of the wild population is important and will continue annually for many years until the wild population is flourishing. It ensures the best possible chance of success for the Spix’s macaw, its habitat, and all the species that share it with them. A true tribute to the people of Curaçá. Join us at the beginning of December for another historic event! 😍

🚨 Wir haben einen Save-the-Date-Moment! Nach dem Erfolg des ersten Test-Release am 11. Juni planten wir bereits den ergänzenden Nächsten. Um den 10. Dezember herum (das genaue Datum wird noch bekannt gegeben) werden 12 weitere Spix-Aras in die Wildnis entlassen. Dieser ergänzende Release ist wichtig. Das wird, bis diese Wildpopulation gedeiht und über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg, jährlich so fortgesetzt und sichert die bestmöglichen Erfolgschancen für den Spix-Ara und seinen Lebensraum sowie für alle Arten, die diesen mit ihm teilen. Eine wahre Hommage an die Menschen in Curaçá. Seid Anfang Dezember mit dabei; zu einem weiteren historischen Ereignis! 😍

❗️Extinct in the wild! The return - Updates 🌎
Pleasant updates - 24 hours after the release, all eight Spix's Macaws are doing very well. We have seen them near the facility for the most part. On the first night, six slept in the release aviary, one beside it and one nearby. All of them were back at the aviary for the morning feed and continued to return for the feeding times. The soft release enables the parrots to fly in and out freely. We are pleased about this promising development and will keep you informed over the next few days.

Erfreuliche Updates - 24 Stunden nach dem Release geht es allen acht Spix-Aras sehr gut. Sie halten sich ständig in der Nähe der Facility auf. In der ersten Nacht schliefen sechs von ihnen in der Auswilderungsvoliere, einer daneben und ein anderer ganz in der Nähe. Alle waren zur morgendlichen Fütterung wieder in der Voliere und kehrten zu den Fütterungszeiten immer wieder zurück. Der Soft Release ermöglicht es den Papageien hier frei rein und wieder rauszufliegen. Wir sind sehr froh über diesen vielsprechende Entwicklung und halten euch die nächsten Tage auf dem Laufenden.
