But I suppose we’re at the anniversary of being re-homed from NY to CA for 6 years now and apparently the weekend of too! (Though one could argue was I really a rescue? 😆)

Happy to report that my humans still love me and I think I’ll stay put.

❣️🚒Yay! We finally got to meet the ! It made our day especially our tiny human’s who is currently obsessed with 🚒 and really all things that are on the move. We love following its many adventures and so happy it found a home here in the bay.

🌸Today’s the last day of ! Catch all the activities and yummy foods. Such a fun way to celebrate spring! There’s also the happening too and our talented friends has lots of cute things!

Fun fact: 2019.10 // This was one of the first full family costumes. And huMom always seems to spend the most time (and probably 💵 on my costume).

How is it Halloween already??? Just wanted to share some throwbacks of Halloween/dress-up with Nacho this week.

This was back in 2016 - our first Howl-o-ween with when he went as Granny(wolf) and huDad went as Little Red Riding hood for a company costume.

Hope you’re having a sunny Fri-YAY! ☀️🌻And get to enjoy the outdoors. I know we’re soaking in as much as we can.

🌻Caught this sunflower field last year while we were on our way back from Tahoe. It was our first escape since the lockdown.

Just thinking back about how scared/different it felt last year to even get out of the house. And this was before all the fires too… we definitely are grateful and continue to think about how we can take care of the world and each other. 💛 . .

Do dogs have a memory of where they’ve been?
It’s just about our 5 year adoptaversary of ! Just about 2 weeks after we packed him up from NYC to CA we went to a trip to the Trinity Alps.

We have now gone here probably about 4-5 times with Nacho. Each trip has its memories as seasons change and our family grows. I did wonder on this trip if he could remember that we took him to this spot where we balanced on this log and traversed across a creek crossing. As we walked on this trail he seemed very eager to get to our spot here.

I included a photo at the end from 2016 — but if you choose to scroll way way back down our feed I realized I did post more frequently then on his first trip here.

That was the one thing we had in our adoption “contract”— to keep Instagram account alive.

The magnolia - the flower that welcomes spring!
新年快樂 🌸 春來福到 . .
Hoping everyone had a wonderful lunar new year! We are grateful to celebrate spring safely together here in California!
We had to stop to try and capture the beauty of the most magnificent magnolia I’ve ever seen. No fancy cameras but as we say the best camera is the one you have in the moment. 😅
Can’t believe it’s spring already - I know we still aren’t over posting our fall/winter photos since we always seem to behind. Just enjoying real life.

Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness, and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo...and it's worth fighting for.

HeeNae is a rescue and just came home this week but got loose last night around 9:30PM 12/3 around Alamo Square. They followed her to Golden Gate Park / Panhandle area where she was last seen. She might not respond to her name and will bolt.

Fun fact: Nacho was actually supposed to be Marty but Tiny Human was not a fan of putting a wig on. We are grateful for Nacho’s tolerance. 😆

Other fun fact is Nacho and Tiny Human are currently about the same size, roughly 26lbs and size 18-24Months / size 2T in clothing.
