Fosters needed! Do you love kittens or cats. Are you looking to help them in some way. OC Community Cats is in need of fosters so they can continue to rescue cats and kittens from the streets. Without a place to go they will remain on the streets. OC
Community cats will cover food, litter, and medical expenses.
Right now is peak season for kittens and cats. We are running out of fosters.
Even helping 1 cat/kitten is greatly appreciated. Long term fosters are needed but short term are needed as well.
You can foster, foster to adopt, adopt, help feed ferals, and/or help with transportation.
Please email [email protected]
With wanting to foster in the subject line.
It can be so rewarding to turn a scared kitten into a loving cuddly one.
I have done this many times myself.
Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

This is Casper. He is 6-7 years old and is a pet ringneck dove. He was released by mistake on Monday, July 10, near Hamilton and Newland in Huntington Beach. He was mistakenly thought to be a wild bird and was set free. Casper's long term chances of survival on his own are ZERO. Please share on Huntington Beach Nextdoor groups, any Huntington Beach community groups you are in, any lost pet groups, and your own timeline. If Casper has been found or is found, please keep him safely confined and call me ASAP.

SNiP Now recently shared this very informative post regarding female fertility and reproduction. They wrote:
"We have had a few calls from people worried their cats are in pain as they are exhibiting symptoms of yowling and other unusual behaviors (rubbing all over items). What these individuals are describing is their female cat having heat cycles which can occur in females as young as 4-months of age. Yowling, rubbing, raising the behind up in the air (lordosis reflex), spraying, the desire to go outside and find a mate...are all symptoms that can occur during a female cat's heat cycle. Sometimes females can appear more loving and other times females can have more aggressive tendencies during this cycle."

Remember that spaying a cat will eliminate these behaviors as well as help control the cat population. Please have your cat spayed by 4 months of age!

BEWARE - ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!

Today my friend rescued a puppy that had been tortured. The person who did it paid $20 for it. We don't know if the puppy will survive. The police & Animal Control have been notified. Investigation is pending.

There are people in the area looking for cats, dogs & other animals to torture, use as dog fighting bait, feed to reptiles & worse!

Free animals are the most vulnerable, but some of these people will PAY for the animals.

Pets that are allowed outside are also in danger! Please keep your cats & other animals indoors.

These people are on pages like this, on Facebook, Instagram, also Craigslist, Nextdoor, Offer Up, etc. They seem nice, but they are not.

If you must rehome an animal, it is best to ask your vet & contact rescues in your area for help. Google search & contact them thru social media. Send photos of the animal.

If your vet or rescues can't help:

- Have the potential adopter complete an application, including references & vet information. Call the references! You can find sample adoption applications on Adopt-a-Pet & Petfinder.

- Insist on a home check, even if it's virtual. You need to see the space where the animal is going

- Charge at least $50 for the animal, and no same day sales.

- If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't. Trust your instincts.

If you witness or suspect animal cruelty, contact Animal Control & the police for the city it is in. Get photos or video. The animals have no voice. We have to protect them.
