Pet chat is broadcasting from the cat cafe this week!! Tune in this weekend 🐈‍⬛

Animal advocates know that kitten and puppy season has arrived, but what about wildlife baby season?

This week, on Pet Chat with Murad & Bobbi, the team is joined by Laura Siegel from the New Mexico Wildlife Center, who shares that the hospital staff works 12-hour days to keep up with the patients at this time of year. Plus, hear the steps to take if you discover an orphaned or injured wildlife in your community, and learn how you can meet and get up close to some of the center's ambassador animals.

The show will broadcast from the Turquoise Teapot & Cat Cafe, with an update from owner Carrie Reyes.

Pet Chat, hosted by Murad Kirdar, director of community engagement at Española Humane, and Bobbi Heller, executive director of Felines & Friends New Mexico, airs every Saturday at 9 am and Sunday at 3 pm on local radio Talk 1260 KTRC and FM 103.7. Rainbow and Pop Tart have an announcement about new hours! Starting next week, we will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-6pm. The cats will be taking a break from their public from 1-2pm every day 😺 head to our website for reservations, which are definitely recommended as we have reduced our capacity in the cat lounge to a max of 6 people at a time ❤️ in

Caffeine and cuddles have arrived in the city different. On Pet Chat with Murad & Bobbi this week, go inside Santa Fe's first-ever cat cafe and get a sneak preview before the grand opening. Turquoise Teapot & Cat Cafe will open its doors on Tuesday, Feb 6, offering loose-leaf tea, coffee, treats, and lots of purring kitties in a specially designed cat lounge who are all looking for a second chance in life. Get the "purr-spective" of everything you need to know about this locally owned feline establishment.

I counted, and that is a LOT of puppies… Please help if you are able! 🙏

Friends, we have had a rough end to the week. On Friday, we took in 30 dogs and puppies. We took in 27 the day before that. At the end of the day yesterday, we received a new mama with brand new puppies and two new dogs we are sheltering had litters of babies. A litter of medically complex neonate bottle babies arrived, along with injured pets, medical emergencies, neglected dogs covered in pounds of matted fur, and pups with ringworm and distended bellies and internal medical issues we are trying to resolve.

We have 23 dog kennels and a handful of puppy pens.

If you have been thinking about adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating, right now would be a great time to do so 🙏 Our shelter adoption fees are $10 for puppies and waived for adults, and we are open Monday-Saturday 11am-4:30pm. (We also received ten feral cats who need barn homes - they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go! Come in before 4:30 to adopt and please bring a crate!)

FIP graduate!!! After 84 days of treatment, foster, Chock, is moving into observation! Now, we watch her like a hawk for the next 84 days so she can get her status. 🙏😻
