Private re-home: Only to the right family/people. Rudy is a rescue from Berlin, Germany. He is an unknown mixed breed, approx ~3 years old, weighing about 8kg. He demonstrates very high energy and anxiety toward new situations and environments. He can get extremely overwhelmed and is unable to calm himself down when this happens, sometimes leading to him having vomiting spells.
His story is quite long and complicated in ways. We adopted him in Berlin and moved back to Ireland nearly two years ago as he was not able to cope in the city - the busyness was too much for him. Since moving home, he has improved and gained lots of confidence, but we have come to see that we cannot provide what he needs. We do not have the resources to help him gain confidence outside of our home, and we have got into a cycle of simply not leaving, as the alternative is to leave him in the crate due to the fact that he gets too overwhelmed by busy environments. We are also at the mercy of the housing crisis as we have been living in an Airbnb for nearly two years now, unable to find a suitable accommodation that will accept a dog.
Looking for the right home for him is not done lightly, but he simply needs someone who is more settled and can provide a stable environment for him. Ideally somewhat rural as he will definitely need a large garden. He is extremely affectionate and loving - he has never shown any signs of aggression. He is disinterested in other dogs and is not suitable for a home with small children.
Please note that we have gone to multiple trainers, and we have tried various medications to try and calm him, but this is the way he is wired, and there is nothing wrong with it - he just needs to be in the right environment.
