Today was eventful. Took out all my tomatoes and peppers out of my garden so I can start getting the soil ready for some lovely garlic bulbs I’m planting at the end of October.

Don’t worry I didn’t not chuck those mighty peppers out. I will be attempt to overwinter them in the house.

Just don’t tell my man 🤫 🤣

I ran out pint jars because I’ve filled them all. Then I decided it was a pretty good problem to have.

Abundant season is here. I absolutely love this Time of the year, the colours the air and how the seeds I once started in the spring are now producing fruit. Makes it so worth it.

I made this lovely produce basket for my brother.
Tomato’s, pie pumpkins, apples, celery, basil, garlic, onions, cucumbers. And of course some flowers to make it look pretty

My small and mighty potted porch peppers. 🌶️ Just getting over being sick so don’t mind the voice. Fun fact I can’t eat peppers as they make me sick, but that doesn’t stop me from growing them. Can’t wait to see them all turn red. I will also be using a paint on to label them instead of a sharpie

Look at how big this beautiful red habanero is. I bet it’s tasty and spicy! 🥵. I love growing any sort of spicy pepper but leave the eating to those who can handle the heat

This year I decided to start multiple different tomatoe varieties with the 2 main ones being
Mortgage Lifter Tomatoe and Amish Paste!

Both of these tomatoes are vining tomatoes (indeterminate) meaning that those tomato cages will not be able to contain them and will need to be trellised.

Mortgage Lifter Tomatoes date back to 1930, where they were used by many farmers to help recover from debt.

The fruit typically gets to 1-2 lbs and best of all is it’s an heirloom variety so seeds can be saved 🙂 oh and they are a beefsteak tomato

Amish Paste Tomato

Which is perfect for making those yummy delicious pasta sauces.

These tomatoes date back to 1800’s where they were grown by Amish in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

These tomatoes typically produce clusters of large fruit up to 8oz.

Happy planting ❤️

Finally have my new arch placed in. It’s ready for the luffa plants and cucumber this May.

Ideally the t post would be pounded more into the ground but where I am there’s lots of bedrock.

My day off consisted of starting some more seedlings, of course! I work full time while also gardening!

Tried to use the nifty little tool called a soil blocker and it’s definitely a learning curve.

What are you guys planning on growing this year?
