Hia guys! So we've had Flirty Burtie now for 6 days, hes 3 years old. He's absolutely bloody incredible and is the highlight to our days. We were super duper lucky, his previous owners were absolutely amazing, spoilt him rotten, he had so many toys, he's super duper duper tame but he's now become a one person bird in a short space of time. He won't let anyone else in the house touch him only me, every time I leave the living room to go to the kitchen he screams the place down until I come back, yesterday, luckily I'd already bought him his travel bag for holidays next week as me, my partner and 18month old daughter needed to go shopping, we were in the car out the front and he was going absolutely crazy. So I had to test out the carrier and take him shopping, he was so content and chopsing away, he talks so much.
I know that any bird, especially parrots cannot be left, we know that they need a ton of attention and trust me he does 🤣 someone is always in the house unless we go shopping. But if we're popping out for 30mins I don't want him stressing himself out. We leave the TV on for him, he has a million toys, his water and foods are all there.
Is this because he's new and scared in the new home? He has to have a night light every night as he's scared of the dark. His previous owners wrote absolutely everything down bless them.
I just need to know if this could be a temporary thing, or whether he'll be coming on every shopping trip with us forever? 🤣
