Dogs are wonderful 🐾 they can be someone’s savour, and offer us loyalty and companionship so many crave.

But there is a tougher side to dog guardianship and that is what happens when things go wrong. Rescues are full at the moment and unfortunately that means only one solution available for dogs who have bitten and are rehomed - as a Mentee Trainer with Honest Hounds I share their passion for helping as many dogs as possible remain in the home they are so loved, by providing help and support to owners on how to navigate behaviours they aren’t comfortable with.

📣✨ Everyday Dog Solutions ✨📣

This last year has been an amazing journey, running Canine Cadets and continuing my learning of all things dog with & . My life and my dogs’ lives have changed beyond recognition working with the team and I’ve since built a training offering to help others reach similar goals.

Today the Canine Cadets brand feels more in tune with the walking business I started and now I’ve extended services to include Social/Training Walks, 121 packages and Board & Train options, it was time to refresh!

Really excited to launch Everyday Dog Solutions - established to support people in the position I was a couple of years ago, struggling to redirect undesirable behaviours in their dog and receiving the wrong information, and offering training solutions for everyday issues while supporting owners.

Providing effective, ethical and practical solutions; achievable in a realistic timeframe, to the everyday behavioural challenges owners discover as they navigate dog ownership, is something I’m passionate about.

Keep your eyes peeled for details of specialist areas and the services & training packages I offer, but for now I’m excited to be entering this next phase! 🐾

New fur-riends!

This pair don’t ordinarily walk together, but our days are mixed up this week with my holiday, so we set out to do some introductions yesterday! 🐾

I’ve worked with them both for some time and I knew they would walk well together, but I still take my time to ensure dogs meet carefully when it’s for the first time and have structured guidance around their meetings.

These two bonded quickly over their love of running! They had a nice game of chase, politely taking turns and settled in to some sniffing together on our forest walk. Firm friends by home time and causing mischief together 🤪🐾

It was such a great walk, everyone was making very good and polite decisions around the other dogs ☺️

I’m so proud of them all as we’ve worked really hard on learning social cues last couple months particularly with one of them, and it is amazing to see the work paying off 🫶 it helps they all so handsome!

So much appreciation for this little guy 🤩

Alfie is one of our smallest in the group - with a huge personality!

This week he has been helping one of the team learn some new social skills; and even prompted him to play! I’ve never seen that dog play with another so this was a massive step in his journey to become a more social dog.

The whole team are incredibly special, everyone has an important part to play, some correct undesirable behaviours, some lighten the mood, some are there to keep me on my toes 😆 everyone does their job so well, and this week Alfie has gone above and beyond 💫

Millie ❤️ is the sweetest Lab X who joined us for training walks, and has since improved her social skills and recall enough to join group walks!

She is a very strong dog and would use her full weight to get her way! So her owner needed some practical help to get her walking forwards.

She’s made incredible progress and while we still have work to do I’m so proud of how far she’s come, I love seeing the turn around to her running free enjoying her walk and perfecting her recall 👏🏼☺️

Any guesses what breed she is crossed with?!

Their body language and responses have evolved so much since our first walks together and they’ve both become relaxed, playful, more engaged with me - and a little cheeky! 😜

It’s wonderful to see them enjoy so much time off lead, playing, sniffing and loving their walks

Since starting my social walks, I’ve been astounded by the dedication and resilience of all the owners who attend 🤗 We’ve seen dogs go from never off lead, to off lead on all our walks. From over-reacting to every dog, to the owner being able to predict and manage the situation accordingly. And to owners starting to trust their dogs decisions in a busy pack environment. The thing I love most about training is helping owners to build confidence in their dog - I NEVER want anyone to feel as isolated as I did before joining Honest Hounds and your training styles, personalities and dogs will always be welcome. If you are feeling alone on your training journey, or not enjoying walking your over-reactive dog, please reach out and chat to me about our social walks - we might just be ‘your people’ 😊

Recall is essential to allow our dogs the safe freedom they need in life, and to proof their understanding for areas with more distraction - we practice A LOT !!!!
