Day in training life!
What does life in BT look like for your dog? Of course there are specific training times for each dog to work on certain behaviors they’re learning, but there is also plenty of play time and adventures! Each dog that comes to stay has different needs and training goals so we always make all their needs are met to get the most out of training. It's a healthy balance of work, play, human connection with rules and boundaries in place to help these dogs be the best dog they can be!

A week into training and Doc is doing wonderful!
He came to us to help manage his reactivity.
He is a little unsure of the world. So we are building confidence and working on socializing and being neutral in public spaces. Super impressed with his progress so far!
Training dog Sadie and guide puppy Jesslyn on a field trip to Esthershort park today to enjoy #pride🌈
Recall games today at the park!
Wanna have a great recall with your dog but unsure where to start? Try playing 'tag' - but your dog is 'it'. Practice somewhere with zero distractions and with a long line to start. As you run away, say your dog's name and 'come' once your dog 'tags' you praise, and treat and play again. The goal is to get your dog to chase you. This way whenever they see you run away they will follow you! Make it fun and exciting to chase you by making fun noises, using lures or toys. Once they get good you can practice adding a sit once they tag you, and a sit stay before you call them to you.
Honey honey!
She went home on Monday and she did wonderful!
Gunner!
He was such a fun dog to work with! He is so big at a young age and needed help learning basic obedience. He made a wonderful transformation with his training and I am very proud of him and his family for choosing training to help the communication between everyone.
Side note, I would like to point out that he came in on a Hermspringer prong collar 3.0 that was too big. Prong collars can definitely help teach your dog leash skills. But like any other training tool, it can be ineffective. Because this collar wasn't sized to fit Gunner he would pull right through it. It sagged very low and sat along his flat collar. A correctly fitted prong collar should sit right under the chin above The trachea, as to not put pressure on it, nor should it be able to slip on or off. If your dogs prong collar please take out links or take it to a trainer that is familiar with these tools and have them size it. This isn't just to help the walk, but also for safety!
Two week boot camp to work on basic obedience and doggy social skills!
Look at this perfect little boy!
Very proud of his hard work, building confidence, working and trying things in new environments! Thimble was such a wonderful guy to train and we can't wait to see the things he'll do!
