Sorta like the grass is always greener on the other side, apparently the hay bale looks better on the other side of the fence, too. 🤷🏼♀️.The cattle got a new bale in their paddock yesterday morning, but when we went to give the goats a new bale in the evening, they were all up against the fence, curious and wanting some. 🤣.It’s the same hay, buddies!.We’re bale grazing the goats and cattle right now because we don’t have enough fall cover crop planted for them to graze just yet. Plus it’s just been a weird fall — super dry so there wasn’t a final blaze of regrowth in the perennial grasses. So we still rotate them, moving them weekly instead of every 1-3 days, but their nutrition comes from hay, pumpkins and once the pumpkins are gone an alfalfa/sunflower pellet..With our tractor back in action, the mission this week is to get cover crop seed spread and harrowed. The piggies already stomped in a lot of sections in the woods for us, so the pasture is all we need to harrow!.Also, how big is Molly the goat looking? She’s our youngest one and looking so good! 🤩.Happy Sunday, friends! 💚.......
