The Dog Lodge sadly closed a few years ago for reasons outside of our control. We loved what we did and have had many people contact us since then asking for dog kennelling, which we couldn't assist with.

PLEASE help us to find Tyson. He was stolen and we believe the thieves are trying to sell him. We've had reports of him being in Bauleni and Chilenje, but that doesn't mean he won't be in other places by now. His owners are distraught and are desperate to get their dog back home.

Every dog, at some point in it's life, will have to wear a 'bucket' (Elizabethan collar) - usually after a surgery or if there is another wound of some sort.
I thought I'd share with you the success I've had with this type of 'bucket'! Way more comfortable for the dog, and saves your shins from the inevitable bruises the plastic cones result in. Rhea particularly likes the fact she has a handy pillow following her around for when she'd like a nap! 🤣
It won't work for every dog (e.g. my other dog was too flexible and could still reach and lick her wound), but it's working very well for Rhea after her spay.
Bought on Amazon...not very expensive....worth it! :D

Please help!!! If you, or anyone you know, was planning to add a new furry friend to their home this year, please do it NOW! The shelter is so so so full of dogs desperate to be adopted and they've reached crisis point.

We have a crisis at LAWS shelter...again. SO many irresponsible, uncaring people have moved & abandoned their dogs & we have a long list of animals being fed by neighbours until we have space to bring them in. Adoptions are very very slow. Plus there are lost dogs at the shelter waiting for their owners to claim them, but again no-one ad yet had showed up to find their lost pet.
PLEASE HELP by adopting a dog or a puppy & spread the word to all your friends and family.

If anyone is thinking of adopting then PLEASE DO IT NOW.

On a more serious note: If you are likely to have fireworks in your area, please consider staying home with your dogs this evening, keeping them indoors and giving them a safe place to hide. Please remember that you cannot reinforce fear - fear is an emotion and not a behaviour; so please do provide comfort if your dog is distressed. If your dog is inclined to be a little anxious, play games and provide enrichment activities BEFORE there is any noise and keep them happily occupied as much as possible. If you know your dog is likely to be extremely stressed, please ask your vet for medication to help them to cope better.
