Mitzy being a pomeranian was bigger than Maizy (Shiba puppy) is now. I have had to buy new harnesses as a result along with treats and all. There is one Valentine sweater that is shorter fits well enough with a bit of growing room for Maizy. I’m glad that she will get to enjoy it, too. It’s a bitter sweet feeling, especially knowing that Mitzy would have gladly shared with Maizy and loved her, too.

Sorry, everyone, for taking so long to post the following news: Mitzy passed away 7/24/20 very likely due to FreshPet dog food. She was cremated and sent me the view of her Rainbow Bridge the afternoon of her cremation. I am still grieving her relocation to Heaven and yet am extremely happy that she finally got her real angel wings. Maizy is helping me during this time and is in training for her service dog "license". Maizy is a Shiba Inu.

Thanks to everyone in their support and love of Mitzy.

Way to go on 300 Facebook Friends, Mitzy The Pom-Pom Dog!

Mitzy got jumped at REI in Redwood City the Sunday after Thanksgiving by another small dog. She ended up with some anxiety and thus bowel issues for a little bit. Thankfully, SPCA helped with the vet bill; even though, there should be something in place to help us (Full Service Dog owners) be able to take our helpers to the vets under emergency situations without having to worry about forking up the bills ourselves or having to possibly sue the other party(ies) for reimbursement of it.

She is okay now from the incident, but then X-rays were taken, which looked like Mitzy had a large heart. As a result, I ended up taking her to SAGE's Cardio vet, which ended up with good news - her heart is fine after all after an expensive echocardiogram test, labs, and exam. SAGE and I are trying her temporarily on Prednisone (steroids) for her breathing aka trachea problems. She goes back in a month for a follow-up. It's several hundred dollars each visit from what I can tell thus far.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated by both Mitzy and myself.

FYI I will be deleting this Fan Page of Mitzy in the near future due to how many people think it is "okay" to steal photos and videos of Mitzy without both of our permission.

Please let's stop trashing the ground. I am not sure where Mitzy got bubble gum stuck to her paw and hurt another paw, but now both Mitzy (mostly) and I are stuck with the aggravation. Thankfully, SPCA in San Francisco taught me a little trick (hot but not solding hot) water to help loosen up the gum.

Mitzy and I wish everyone a hoppy good Easter (and Passover).

While many people are familiar with therapeutic pets and how they can help lift up people’s spirits, bringing them into the classroom might sound far-fetched. How can a therapy pet possibly teach children the life lessons of kindness and empathy? Can…Read more ›

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes for Mitzy. It ended up being a Lower GI problem. I am now able to mix in her regular food (Honest Kitchen dehydrated) with her special diet food, which she loves, too. Yes, my credit card is still screaming from how quickly all the expenses from it has added up. Gotta get a bit more of the diet food later today for a few more days.

Beach trip tip with dogs:
Take a small, soft face towel to be able to wipe off sand from their little noses. Mitzy loves the feel of white sand but then starts to accidentally and quickly get it in her eyes - hence microfiber face towel to the rescue.

Any other unusual and/or often forgotten travel tips with doggies and/or other critters?

Fantabulous news: Mitzy and I finally saw one of my mother's doe (female deer) in her yard this morning. Light in color and a young adult age from the looks of it. So beautiful. She was fine with Mitzy saying, "Hi" and notifying me about the deer. Sorry no pics; I was being lazy by leaving my cell in the house. C'est la vie!

This morning, Mitzy and I saw our new turtle buddy again but upside down. No worries we saved him safely.
